What Guests Are Saying
Ponderosa Campground is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and spacious, well-maintained sites, making it a favorite for many campers. Families enjoyed the layout of Group Site E, and amenities like clean bathrooms and convenient trash disposal were highlighted positively. However, concerns were raised about tree removal plans affecting the campground's appeal and some noise disturbances from nearby highways and other campers.

The campsite host was the worst I have ever experienced!!! She was extremely rude and unfriendly. She automatically assumed we were taking a site without a reservation which we clearly had res for and showed proof. In the end she was the idiot who forgot to put the reserved tag on our site. No apology. Don't hire this host again. Never met a host who was so miserable!!!!!!

The campsites were spread far apart in this beautiful campground. Looking at all of the trees with blue marks, knowing they will be cut down, I try to picture what it will look like. Not as nice. Oh well.

We stayed 6/14 & 6/15. Vary nice campground, clean rest rooms. These are just "vault" toilet's, and first ever I found that did not stink. Camp host was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time. Campsite was nice. Traffic noise from the highway was high at night. Saw a javelina! We had fun.

The only thing I can complain about was the fact the dumping station is shutdown.
The rest of the camping experience was great.

Nice camp hosts, and the location is close to Payson - in case you need to buy something.
The only downside is the highway that it's close to.
You can hear 18 wheelers hauling heavy, deep into the night. Unless you sleep like a rock, it will wake you up.
Otherwise, it's a great location and most of the sites are large and isolated from each other.

Great time! Camp hosts were wonderful. Our spot was quiet and secluded. Had an amazing time.
