Wish the showers would have been open, also the water spout for my area was out of order.

Campground in good shape. Quiet hours were observed. Beautiful location and good amenities. Only quip was lack of hot water available in a bath house. It is late in season so not horribly surprised, but would have made the cold mornings a little more bearable.

We reserved a site online. When we arrived there was as already a family there setup. They said they had been there since the day before. There was no clear signage indicating which sites were reserved vs first come first serve. There wasn’t a ranger around to speak with about the issue. So we were forced to find another site, as opposed to creating conflict with the party that was at our site.

Nice camp area and sites with good hiking trails available.
It is noisy as it is close to the Parkway.
The pit privies that are around the camp area were on the raunchy side.

Koomer ridge is a beautiful campground located on the edge of the gorge. We enjoyed taking the hiking trails from the campground, which connect with many other trails in the red river gorge. The arches are really neat to see and there's two that are a moderately easy hike from the campground. We camped near the real bathroom, which had nice warm showers. There is some traffic noise from the highway but it was mostly quiet at night and didn't bother me.
