Koomer Ridge Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting with well-maintained sites and easy access to hiking trails in the Red River Gorge. Most visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, clean facilities, and friendly hosts who are eager to assist. However, some guests noted issues with broken amenities and difficulty contacting the campground host, which detracted from their overall experience.

I love that the campsites are spaced apart at this campground. We have a small camper and had the perfect spot. Access to some great hiking trails nearby is a bonus. We definitely plan to return.

Great location! The trails from the campground are a perk. Red River Gorge trails are awesome!! An unexpected trail we were told about was Copperas Falls, it wasn't on any of our maps but did find it on All Trails. Highly recommend that trail to your itinerary!

When we arrived we discovered someone had set up on our reserved campsite. The camp host and her daughter were most accommodating. She found us another site and asked repeatedly if the location was acceptable to us. She even came back and checked after we had set up. The campsite was level, clean, free of litter and the fire ring was clean. Our experience was wonderful, we enjoyed exploring the area.

Our site was level and spacious. There is noise from the nearby highway. The shower house could have been a little cleaner. The pit toilets near our site were good. Unfortunately on our last day some people arrived who crapped on the toilet seat of the pit toilet and did NOT clean up after themselves. :-( A good location for exploring the arches in the Red River Gorge area. You can hike to two arches from the campground.

Site 15. Site was very clean when I arrived. Site is close to shower house which wasn't an issue in May but could see it being annoying in prime season. Bathrooms and showers clean and nice warm water. Gravel surface was fine. Didn't feel too close to other sites. I had spotty service with Verizon, my daughter good service with Tmoble. Would camp here again

Campground is convenient to several trails in Red River Gorge. The bath house was always clean and stocked with toilet paper. The showers had hot water. The campground map on recreation.gov was not working properly for me; it showed all campsites overlayed on top of each other, rather than in their proper locations. A lot of sites did not have site photos, making it a guess as to what the site actually looked like.

Great for car camping at the gorge! The camp host is so accommodating and such a lovely help if you need anything. Wonderful for families - bathrooms and showers are decent, and the sites are spread out and well taken care of.

This is our favorite campground in the area. The sites are nicely spaced and the shower house is a major perk.
