What Guests Are Saying
Alto Pit OHV Campground offers a safe and clean environment with a courteous host who is helpful and ensures the area is well-maintained. Many visitors appreciate the campground's beautiful scenery, accessibility, and suitability for various outdoor activities such as ATV riding and biking. However, some guests have noted issues with noise from nearby roads and OHVs, as well as occasional cleanliness problems with trash and bathrooms. Overall, it is a great spot for camping and enjoying nature, particularly for those who enjoy off-road activities.

Has a really exotic look to it with the choppy groves of tall pines, some campsites have great mountain views too

Great clean campground for the family. Camp Host is wonderful and keeps the grounds clean and educates everyone on the rules, which is very appreciated.

We have stayed at Alto Pit Campground many times in the past years. We ride bicycles, use 4x4s, and ATV's, which this camp accommodates well and there is the accompanying sounds of motors revving off and on throughout the day. It's fun! We were out riding much of the day and would come back to eat, relax, and sleep. This time unfortunately, was not as pleasant as many others had been. Two things had adverse affects on our experience. The first was loud partying right in the center campsite past quiet hours Friday and Saturday nights. We have found this to be a more widespread problem in campgrounds around the Southwest. Although we love families and people gathering to have a good time together, we also love nature and feel that is a large part of what most people seek camping. It is difficult to find a peaceful respite in camp when loud music and campers shouting above the music lasts on into the night (from dark until after 10pm). The other downer was bits of trash all around camp, under almost any tree or bush and especially under the picnic table. For some reason, trash is not being picked up and disposed of either by the former campers or the hosts. Of course we picked up the trash and endured the loud campers best possible, but that is not as it should be. Folks, please be respectful if you are camping and think about making nature the focus if at all possible. Thanks!

Super friendly host greeted us shortly after arriving to make sure we were all set for the night. It had been snowing all day and was going to get really cold overnight. We appreciated that because we had been dry camping for days and ran down our battery but we were able to run the generator until 10pm, make a nice dinner and stay warm until almost morning. We woke to a white blanket of snow everywhere. Host came by and told us to have a safe trip. Recommend highly!

My wife and I were camped at the Alto Pit campground to access mountain biking trails in the Spencer Basin area just across the highway from the campground. Access to the trail system was available through a large culvert under the road so we didn't have to deal with vehicle traffic. We used Trail Forks for route finding and had a great time biking the area.
