Campsite "C21" was not clean, fire pit had trash, burnt cans and broken glass in it. Bathroom in our loop "C" was nasty and had not been cleaned the 3 days we were there. The water bib lever was broken and difficult to use for water fills. Overall the general area is really nice, lots of pines and fresh air.

Our favorite Arizona campsite because it feels small and intimate, the hosts are great, and the connector trails are so fun and accessible. We can easily get to the lake, the cafe, and other campgrounds!

Quiet and peaceful (at least during the week), with sites generally well spaced. Easy walk to Lynx Lake. Beautiful views. Very quick trip to town.

This is a beautiful, quiet, and picturesque campground that is very well kept. Everything was clean, and there’s a lot of space between each spot, which really made the spot feel more private.
There’s very little light, so you can really see the stars. It’s just a short walk to a small lake, which has a path around it. There is ample hiking as well.
I strongly recommend this campground!

Our stay at Hilltop Campground was delightful, and Site 36 was perfect! Super close to the trailhead leading to the lake as well as the cross park multi-use trail. I loved that there are no specified generator hours other than quiet. So often we're limited, especially in the morning not being early risers. A beautiful repose under the high ponderosa pine!

There are just a few things to realize when camping here. A lot of the sites are on slopes. It's just a matter of the terrain at the campground. I was on site 15 and it is fairly level, but a little tight for backing a trailer into. I'd definitely pay attention to the max trailer length. The sites are pretty well spaced and because it has a lot of trees, you don't feel like you're on top of your neighbors. The camp host was really friendly and came around and checked on things regularly. You can hike to Lynx Lake from the campground, but it's fairly steep terrain so it is a lot of up and down.

We had site 27 and it was not a bad site, a pull through, but it was not very level,

As usual, the grounds and restrooms were spotless. Great job by the staff.
