This is one of the cleanest parks I have ever stayed in! Jeff actually scrubs picnic tables to remove bird dropping, food and drink residue, no surprises there. The camping area is well monitored as Coleen makes regulars rounds to ensure campers are in their correct locations and are respectful of others around them. I imagine a lot of their time is spent with straightening out reservation sites, as was our case.

This park is well maintained, clean and orderly. Should an issue occur someone is readily available to speak with. Most important, I felt very safe camping at White Spar. Thank you White Spar staff! -Carmen

We love to dry camp so this is in our wheelhouse. The trails are great, good for mountain biking and very close to Prescott, which is why we stayed at White Spar. The sites are spaced ok but is typical of old national forest campgrounds. You can expect them to not accommodate the largest of rigs. No dump station but there is potable water for containers at various locations within the campground in season.

Love this campground. Been going here for about 6 years. It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere (except for occasional traffic noise in some sites) but yet, it's less than 3 miles South of Whiskey Row and the Square.

Campground is nice, however over the past couple of years, the maintenance and cleanliness of the park and facilities has significantly been overlooked and/or neglected. The restrooms (vault toilets) were full and had a terrible odor and needed emptied/cleaned. The grass was over grown in the campsites and all around the park. Forest service came in 1 day and used the weed eater (7AM); however it really just scratched the surface of what is required.

Nice surroundings and hiking trails. Water was on. Nice young fella was camp host. Many of the sites are not level side to side so for the t.t. You will need to put leveling blocks under the wheels.

I am an avid camper, and outdoors-person. Campsite 39 was un-inhabitable. All of the campsites were pretty tight, and crammed together with barely having a pull-out for parking. There were two young forest rangers that were awesome! They were friendly and helped us with site 39. The bathroom was dirty when we got there with rude writing in dry erase marker in relation to keeping the toilet lid closed. None of the campsite signs had been updated with reservation information, and whether a site was available or not and dates. There was an older lady forest service ranger that drove around in a big diesel truck. She was quite rude. The loop she was staying on was completely closed, so I'm not sure why she was there. We were walking to survey the two sites we had reserved and she pulled up and yelled at us "you have multiple sites right?!". If she was aware of my reservation, she would have known. I like to talk to the rangers and get local info. such as closest trails, wildlife to watch for, and so on. I was unable to speak with this ranger at all. I used to be a Prescott local and had seen a news story about bear activity in the area. Camp host did not mention this.

Site 006 is grossly misrepresented in photos on Recreation.gov. The photos show shade trees but there are NONE. It was blazing hot 97-100 degrees, unbearable. The location of the campground is great otherwise.
