THE CAMPGROUND COST TO MUCH AND ALSO ALL OF THE FACILITIES WERE FILTHY, ONE OF THE MENS BATHROOMS HAD feces all over the place and it was not cleaned. the showers had garbage all over them. you also cannot park in any of the parking areas and walk down to the water to do any fishing the campground hosts would make you move your vehicle.

Campsites are well-spaced and scenic, with plenty of vegetative screening. It's a nice place for birding.

There was literally 8 cars parked in two single campground across from me. Took forever to back in my camper. This is the second year for this camp host. It’s awefull.

The view and the overall campground was great. The camp hosts were wonderful and bathrooms were clean. However the spot we reserved T15, could only work for a super small tent. The fire ring is placed in the middle of the site, leaving a small uneven area for a tent. We have a family size tent and had to set it up in the pathway to our site, leaving us very little privacy and almost no room to enter our site. The website info about the sites starting with a "T" isn't entirely correct. It neglected to mention some key information. First, you cannot drive up to your site. You have to haul all of your equipment on the dirt path to your site. The website allowed us to select 3 vehicles, but we only had one spot. We brought our boat with us, but the spot only allowed for a single vehicle. Fortunately we were with friends that had a site on the actual loop that allowed us to park our boat there.

The natural beauty was amazing. The vamp hosts were kind and artistic. It was super clean on grounds, restrooms and showers. I will definitely be back.

We liked the campground. Some of the spots were close together. We had a great spot which was more secluded.

Water not at every campsite but was ok. One dump station which we got there before the rush. Clean quite beautiful by the lake.

Cholla Campground is 5 miles north of Roosevelt Dam. From Mesa: Take State Hwy. 87/Beeline Highway north for about 60 miles to its junction with State Hwy. 188. Turn right and follow State Hwy. 188 south for 28 miles to the site. From the Globe area: Take State Hwy. 188 north for 30 miles to its junction with State Hwy. 188. Continue on State Hwy. 188 across the bridge for 6 miles to the site.

Maximum stay limit is 14 days within 30 consecutive days on the Tonto National Forest including dispersed areas. Check in time is 2:00pm and check out time is 11:00am. Quiet Hours are from 10:00pm to 6:00am.During June, July, and August temperatures reach well over 100° and many RV air conditioners cannot keep up. Maximum trailer length is 32'. Extra (second) vehicle charge of $8 per night is required. An RV towing a car counts as one vehicle and a vehicle pulling a trailer counts as one vehicle. There is a maximum of two vehicles at a single family campsite and four vehicles at a double family campsite. An RV towing a car counts as one vehicle and a vehicle pulling a trailer counts as one vehicle. Fee can be bundled with online reservation or purchased on-site at fee machine. Maximum of 2 vehicles per single campsite and 4 for double campsites.Boat ramps are usable when water elevations are higher then 2,110 feet.Fireworks are always prohibited on National Forest Land. |
