The campsite was awesome and there was plenty of room for my truck, boat, and 27' camp trailer.

I think this campground is the best of both dry camping and camping with hook ups. I absolutely love the views and all the area has to offer. We will be back again!

A special thank you to our camp host Claudia. We had reserved a site with a lake view that looked great on the website but left us a little exposed to the road with our pop up tent trailer. Claudia helped us find a better spot and checked in with us each day to make sure we were ok and coordinated with the ranger service to make sure our stay was great. Thank you so much Claudia! You are the best!

Beautiful campground. For sure a favorite. Will definitely be back. We visited in January so I’m not sure summer camping would be as wonderful. The camp host was fabulous and came by often to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a dog friend campground.

Nice campground, beautiful setting. Would give 5 stars if they had flush instead of pit toilets

Well maintained camp ground, however the bathroom closest to our site was out of service. Not a huge deal since there were several others that were working fine, just more of a walk. Also, there are great trails for exploring and getting down to the lake. The views of the lake and mountains around the lake were spectacular. Our favorite campground by far.

Beautiful in fall/winter. Clean. Great camp host. Fishing from shore can be limited and difficult to navigate to.

I spent a week in the Teddy Bear Loop of Cholla CG. Started at site 15 but it was just too narrow for a trailer with a slide. We upgraded to a double site, much better. All of the camp sites are well-kept. Camp hosts Cheryl and Jerry do a great job! They are also vey kind and helpful. The facilities and surroundings are another story. The native vegetation around the campsites and along the paths need to be trimmed. In fact, all the campgrounds at Roosevelt needed quite a bit of attention to the landscaping. Many area are quite overgrown and unsightly. Cholla CG's "claim to fame" is its solar capabilities. Not sure what is powered by all that solar. We had sunny days almost everyday but NO HOT WATER for the showers! Lights were usually very dim and there isn't any electricity in the bathrooms. It was evident that the hosts took pride in their work but the Forest Service not so much. The area is beautiful with much to offer. If things were kept up I believe more people would be happy to pay the fees and camp there. As it is, boondocking in the area offers the traveler more. Please make us proud of our NFS Campgrounds.

Need to fix the bathrooms, some were locked with a sign saying they were closed. After speaking with the host she mentioned they had been closed for a long time and were “forgotten” about. Also, the hot water for the showers is totally nonexistent. Even with daytime highs in the low 70s (solar heat) the showers were lukewarm at best and only for about a minute. Shower floors did not look like they had been cleaned for quite some time. Lots of hair buildup by the drains.
