It's not really a cabin, it's an elegant 1930's era ranch house with a functional full kitchen, three bathrooms with hot/cold water, baths, toilets, abundant plug-ins for your devices. Lovely large living room with two futons. Four bedrooms. Great patio, overlooking the riparian creek bottom. Sits by itself adjacent to Oak Creek downstream from Sedona. To access Oak Creek trails: facing the garage, walk to left side and follow foot path down, across irrigation canal, past fenced garden area to the creek.

Awesome place for a family gathering. Lots of room and beautiful historical home and property with trails that take you right to the water. What a blessing to the public the home was preserved for all to enjoy.

We had an outstanding experience at Crescent Moon Ranch House last weekend. My wife and I, plus two other couples spent two nights there last weekend. We were extremely impressed with the house. Each couple had their own bedroom and bath, so privacy and comfort were great. The kitchen was far better than we anticipated with everything you would need to prepare and serve a meal. While not spelled out specifically, there is a gas barbecue on the patio with plenty of gas, so the first night was hamburgers, with cooked onions and toasted buns. We also had great breakfasts both morning. We ended up having breakfasts on the screened patio, since there were some annoying flies - but the screened patio was perfect, where we could hear the birds chirping and the critters running around. We walked down to the river each day and enjoyed the scenery and talking to some of the folks we met. Back at the house, we played a variety of games (UNO and Scrabble, plus) into the wee hours. The house has a bunch of games left by prior visitors. One of the highlights was watching a bobcat walk by and check us out - don't let your kids run around without supervision. During the day, we visited the Stupa in Sedona and had lunch at the Secret Garden restaurant. Both were great. My only suggestion to the forest service is to consider putting up hand rails by the stairs leading down to the living room and down to the patio. I am 74 and had a couple of close calls on the steps since the lighting is/was not great. Overall the house was far better than we anticipated. And at $200 per night, a real bargain.

No hot water for Friday, Saturday or Sunday for showers or dishwashing. The "maid" section of house stunk so bad that friend had to sleep on futon in living room. Otherwise it was nice

We were delighted to learn the history of this charming and beautifully sited ranch house. A lovely get away.

We visited this cabin with three other couples who have known each other for decades. This is a repeat visit for us and, as always, was a wonderful experience. Enjoyed the hiking, wine tasting and sight-seeing this incredible place has to offer. Also enjoyed just sitting on the deck, taking in the breath-taking sights and sounds of nature.
At the risk of sounding like a scold, my only criticism would be that, upon arrival, the cabin was about as messy as I have ever experienced at this or any other Forest Service cabin. Please take a moment to clean the fridge, microwave and all bathrooms when you leave so that neither the next guest nor the wonderful volunteers who help with upkeep are required to take care of your mess.

The ranch is located in a beautiful, peaceful creek bottom, far from the maddening crowds. A short, pleasant walk takes you to trails that parallel Oak Creek, lined with sycamores, cascading its waters over horizontal slabs of sandstone. Definitely worth visiting and watching sun rise or set.
Unfortunately, the ranch house is in very poor condition, little, if any maintenance, and absolutely no cleaning had been done for a
long time by previous visitors
We spent an hour surface cleaning, enough to be able to use the kitchen area and great room; a very thorough cleaning from ceiling to foundation
is absolutely critical to prevent health department mitigation. The $200 per night fee would be acceptable if the house was at minimum, cleaned
after each rental; folks assume the next person will do it.
I am a frequent renter, well aware of the various conditions of rental houses, cabins, guard stations through the country, and have
experienced this situation before. Multiple solutions of how to address consistent and acceptable levels of cleanliness by visitors range from
using outside cleaning services (additional fees) to citations, to volunteers to monitor needed cleaning and repairs and so on
I am hopeful that the new manager of the Crescent Moon Ranch rental program will take steps to assure the public's enjoyment, continued rentals, revenue for renovations and repairs and and preserve the fascinating stories of this historic ranch
