I love this campground.

It was incredibly windy the two weeks we were there. I had no idea this area could be so windy and incredibly dry. A full bottle of lotion and really good chapstick is needed for two weeks for sure.

We had a double site, 57 & 58 and this had to be the absolute worst site in the campground. They place the metal fire ring right in the middle of site 57 making it impossible to simply back straight into the site. You have to back in at an angle that leaves your door right on the road. Roads and pads are gravel so you are in a big dirty dust cloud the entire time. Move the ring or stop renting as a double. Also, if you are coming from the west the directions on Rec.gov are incorrect and will take you 30 to 45 minutes out of your way and leaving you to figure out which way to go. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is very good. Just DO NOT RENT SITE 57/58!!

We have been making this an annual trek for four years. Magnificent scenery and day excursions in Arizonaβ€˜s hot summer. Great Rural towns to visit to see what a simple life used to be like. Will continue to return.

The campground itself is very well-maintained, but unfortunately, the weather was so windy that it was unpleasant for all outdoor activities. However, the boat rental concession leaves a lot of room for improvement. The fishing boat we rented for half a day was in bad shape, and the motor kept cutting out repeatedly. That and the fact that there were whitecaps on the lake from high winds, and no fish biting, made for a very disappointing experience.

the entire campground is very well maintained. Camp hosts do an excellent job. Although paved, the road leading thru the recreation area to the campground is a little bumpy with pot holes.

WE STAYED IN A GROUP COMMON SPACES 65-66. HOSTS AS ALWAYS ARE GREAT AND AGAIN AS ALLWAYS CAMPGROUND WAS VERY CLEAN. ONLY REASON FOR 4 STARS WAS THE WATER HOOKUP FOR #65 WAS BROKEN AND THAT IS THE LARGER OF THE 2 SPACES. IT REQUIRED ME TO RUN AN EXTRA WATER HOSE TO SPACE 66 WHICH LUCKILY I HAD. JUST HOPE UNTIL IT GETS FIXED THE NEXT GROUP HAS LONG ENOUGH HOSES AND IF THERE ARE 2 TRAILERS A DUPLEX CONNECTOR OR 1 OF THE TRAILERS OR RV's MAY NOT HAVE WATER. SMALL PROBLEM AND IM SURE THE CAMP HOSTS ARE DOING THERE BEST TO REMEDY. OTHER THAN THAT LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE HOSTS.
