The campground is remote, but sites are well spaced, and the staff at this site is excellent. Very helpful. We weren't fortunate enough to catch any fish in Big Lake, but we did see Elk, Deer and wild horses in the surrounding woods. it is a beautiful location.

Restrooms and showers cleaner than any I have ever experienced across the whole country!! Sites clean, miscellaneous trash picked up. Bear resistant dumpsters or those not are locked at 7pm, great!! Host very friendly and helpful and still enforcing the rules. Only issue I have is that Bull Thistle, a non-native, noxious weed for the state of AZ is spreading a whole lot. It needs to be dug out below the root crown yearly before it flowers each ongoing year otherwise IT WILL TAKE OVER THE CAMPGROUND. Believe me, walking through an area of bull thistle is not a pleasant experience. Both RRMA and the FS should be tackling this problem because once you have it at the seemingly innocuous level it is now, it will not go away and now requires removal every single year.

Beautiful campground. Very peaceful. I love that you’re not right on top of each other. Clean bathrooms. Wonderful hosts. We came in on a Sunday for two nights.

All of the camp hosts were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The site and facilities were very clean and well maintained. The only issue that begs consideration is the placement of the fire rings in some of the double sites that are placed so close to the users trailers that they are unusable as well as the sewer dumps that end up being in the sitting/personal area of the rv they are sharing the double site with.

Our visit as always was GREAT! We have traveled to AZ wanting to rest, relax, and fish; well we did. The sites are large and the best part is the restrooms are very well-kept by the Camp Hosts. Our friend skunk Mrs Flower visited a couple of times which didn't help, but we realized it is her home. Our favorite place to camp Big Lake, AZ. We will continue to trade the 6 hours from Texas anytime :)
