What Guests Are Saying
Dogtown Lake Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained environment, with clean restrooms and spacious campsites that provide a sense of privacy. The hosts are friendly and attentive, contributing to a positive camping experience. However, some visitors noted the lack of water access and additional fees for extra vehicles, which they felt were not justified given the limited amenities. Overall, it remains a popular spot for fishing and enjoying nature.

Our party has been using the group camp area for several yrs I was unhappy with the trash situation the large bin at the front gate of the group area was over flying with flies and we had put up with the smell also the bathroom was so smelling never had to sit and try to eat dinner with poop smell the inside bathrooms were clean. Camp hosts very nice and helpful

Nice campground with the best pit toilets I've seen. The lake is close by, and people were catching fish. There are trash receptacles at each restroom, but they are locked, and a sign says to go to the dumpster that is a least a quarter mile away. The dumpsters should be at each restroom location. There were deer in the area that would come through the campground periodically. The last couple of miles the dirt road is a bit bumpy but drivable. Lots of trees with some dead that should be removed. Most campsites are spacious and separated for the most part. We'll go back there again for sure.

Hidden gem in the forest! Bring a fishing pole with you as there's plenty of good fishing in the lake. Spots are far enough away from each other for some "privacy", and restrooms were clean and well stocked. What else do you need? The forest is amazing, and there was almost always a gentle breeze 👍🏻

Very nice campground. We had a group using 5 campsites. The sites were close enough to be convent but enough room for activities. Hosts we kind and considerate.

This is the first time I've had a bad experience at this campground. I was in site 15 and it absolutely reeked from bathrooms being next to it. I'm not sure what the issue was. Maybe the vaults were full? I couldn't sleep with the windows on my trailer open on one side or I would get nauseous from the smell. It's natural there are going to be times where you catch a whiff of it, but it was constant. I couldn't enjoy sitting outside. The first couple days it was warm and then it was supposed to cool off. I figured maybe when it cooled off it wouldn't be as bad. It still was.

Everything was great. Clean enough, firewood available. Campground host was by several times and was quite friendly. The trail around the lake was easy, and the kids said the fishing was great!
My only issue was mosquitoes. Hoards everywhere. The kids in our group got bit alot. I got bit so much more. It outdoors. I expected some bugs this is the worst I've ever experience. Benadryl every 4 hours. Anti-itch, caladryl. 6 days later and I'm still miserable.

Host family friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean. Sites were well maintained and space between sites was adequate. No complaints. We will be back.
