The camping area is nice. We enjoyed the trail around the lake and the nature trail. The nearby Sycamore Rim trail is a very enjoyable hike.

On the downside, the roads to get to the campground are bad. It is at least 10 miles of very rough, dusty, washboarded gravel road to get to the campground.

Washboard road 15 miles to campground, just a heads up. Nice hiking to sycamore Canyon, lake pretty, lots of frogs!! Dump station was closed. Other than seeing some water I don't think we got anything for what we paid. Fire ring but with fire ban that was useless. Ok place, but won't go back. Some people love it

The lake was beautiful. The 17 mile gravel road to get there was rough. One of the reasons we chose this location was to go fishing. We were so disappointed to find out the lake is not stocked. We talked to several people that attempted fishing and it is just a waste of time...not even a nibble. We tried and caught a crawfish. Unfortunately we did not find out until we were leaving and picked up a bag of ice that there was canoe, paddle board etc rentals. This would have been really nice to know, we definitely would have rented a canoe since fishing was out. Our biggest complaint was that in Loop B, the tent sites have to be packed in and packed out. We are in our 60s and this was extremely difficult for us. We had so many trips back and fourth to bring things to the site that we were exhausted. This would have been a big, big factor in where we camp. Unfortunately, we will not return to this location. On a positive note, the Camp Hosts were very helpful and lovely people.

My parents chose me to make this review about this AMAZING campsite. Me and my family went to a camping trip for two days and we enjoyed it very much! We loved the lake and how you could do many activities like, boating, canoeing, fishing and so much more! Me and my family also loved the variety of animals! We got to see a dead snake, a snake eating a frog, and a eagle nest with the eagle guarding the nest! The host were very welcoming when we arrived at the area! They kept the area really clean. We will definitely go back soon and next time we go, we will bring fishing gear!

Let me start by saying the campground is stunning. Extremely clean, well kept campground and camp site. We stayed on camp site 20 and had a beautiful view of the lake and easy access to the bathroom and fresh water. Loved the snow cone and ice cream on the lake as well as the canoe rentals. A lot of beautiful hiking and lots of forest to explore, especially with ATV's. The hike around the lake about a mile and was very kid-friendly.

Now for my couple of downsides: we went in late May and we weren't allowed to have a fire. Apparently that comes sometime in June. The road to get to the campsite is 10 miles of rock and dirt. It was tricky pulling the pop-up and made for a VERY long ride considering how slow we had to go. Finally, the lake itself is more like a pond. The water is very muddy and dirty and the lake hadn't been stocked yet when we got there. It seems we just came too early.

All in all, it was a beautiful campground.

We had a great time at White Horse Lake. The campsite was clean and well managed, especially considering it was Memorial Day weekend and a bit on the busy side. There was a concession truck and truck to buy some supplies. You could also rent kayaks, paddle boards and other items to use on the water. I highly recommend!

Everything was clean, Enjoyed relaxing by the lake and Host's Suzy and Ben where awesome. I did miss not having a campfire or BBQ my dinners as we were not aware they where not allowed until we got there, but we made the best of it and still enjoyed our vacation.
