I was under the assumption the lake was being stocked with trout the ONLY reason we decided to make a family camping trip. I was not happy when I found they were no longer stocking that lake because it's to far they said. Even know the stock schedule still showed fish being placed at that lake.. The lake is a great place to escape most of your every day noises and relax but if trout fishing is what your after you can no longer find that at this lake..

I almost feel bad posting this review. I will start with the good things. The campground was very clean and well maintained. Scenic and away from it all.
Now the bad, at least from my perspective. I guess the real problem was the description of the campground which in my case couldn't have been more wrong. This won't be verbatim, but it was something along the lines of " a quiet place where fishermen enjoy solitude." In fact, the camp spaces could not possibly be crammed closer together. This is in the tent only area. I would gauge it to be around 25 feet between campfires. with tents from your campsite and your neighbors campsite picnic tables, coolers etc. all from 2 campers crammed in between. and you have campsites around you on all 4 sides. Add to that the atmosphere of a giant party going all night, some incredibly self centered people who showed up at 10:30pm and began setting up, making coffee and a big meal with several bright lanterns and no consideration for anyone other than themselves.
I left after the 1st night even though I paid for 4 nights. I have little interest in camping within Az since. Colorado is not that far.
Some people probably think this sounds fun, but it was not what the description said and that is what ruined everything for my family.

The staff is so friendly! Our campsite was clean 24/7 because the staff is on top of keeping the area clean. It was a lot of fun and the whole family, 6 adults 4 children and 2 dogs enjoyed it so much!! Definitely planning on going again this year.

Fun campground for families. Lake is a plus and the ranger activities were also fun. Partial dirt road to reach the campground.
