White Horse Campground was gorgeous in fall. We came the weekend after Labor Day weekend to avoid the crowds, and there were a handful of people in the park, but we had a lot of space surrounding our site. The views of the sunrise, sunset and stars over the field near where we camped were incredible. We walked the lake with our dogs every morning and night. It was a wonderful campground experience. There is quite a long unpaved road to get to the campground, so make sure that your vehicle has the clearance for 10+ miles of gravel road. I would definitely go back to White Horse Campground!

It's our go to place! We have not found any other campground in Az. with the same standards as WHL! The hosts are always so nice and friendly, the restrooms are always clean! Camping people seem to be the best people! Love the wild life, close to town if needed but far enough from the highway. It's just the BEST!

This place is so great, I hesitate to say so publicly for fear more folks will discover it. Clean, quiet. Perfect family camp area. Ranger talks and outdoor movie night. 10,000 frogs for kids to chase in the small subalpine lake when they aren’t fishing. Milky Way splashed across the sky. Camp sites spaced out well and in excellent shape. Worth the extra 25 min drive out of Flag. We used as summer scouting base for fall hunts in surrounding units as there is great OHV access to several AZ hunt units from this location. Kids can fish and be kids while dad got in a little preseason scouting. Camp hosts were great.

It would have been 5 stars if the dump station was open. It has not been available for our last three visits. We had to find an alternative and pay. That is very time consuming.

The campground was amazing and had many amenities available. The campground hosts were so sweet, nice, and helpful! There are plenty of fun trails around and if you like rappelling they have plenty of spots for that. I highly recommend this campground. It as well is not far from town, so if you need anything you are close by.
The only thing that you should be wary of is the animals that are present in the campground day and night. We had the cutest skunk around the campground, but at night we noticed a lot of the MUCH BIGGER animals were present around tents and tables.
