Choctaw

Our two week stay started at site D006, this site is very tight for a 38’ fifth wheel. Popped a back window when pulling out. It’s very shaded so the starlink was not an option. Otherwise a nice spot. Had to move after 7 days and went to site d008 which also had a great view. It was an easy setup with a clear view of the sky.
Plenty of room at the boat ramp, launch has a good slope.
The bathhouse was cleaned twice a day, the whole park was well kept.

The site was extremely uneven with broken and buckled asphalt. It was very difficult to level our RV. Bathhouses were in nice condition and the park was very shady and quiet.

Sites nice and spacious. Gate attendant was very polite and welcoming. Bathrooms were clean only complaint was tobacco chewer spitting in shower drains. Just nasty. In no way was that the fault of the park staff

Great place to camp, however the grass is never mowed by the playground or bathhouse.

This park is great, beautiful shady campsites, friendly attendants, well maintained landscape, easy access to the beach and a boating launch.
We have come here for years and always been pleased.

What a beautiful, clean place to stay!

We love Choctaw! Section A has a few nice and roomy sights. Bathrooms are always clean

The Gate House people are rude and VERY overbearing/controlling. There were many complaints from other campers as well. I had backed my truck in to load my boat, got my motor tangled in a trot line. It took hours to clear my motor, when I tried to get back to load my boat, they had towed my truck, I will not be back.

The onsite staff at this park is excellent!! Always helpful.

The campground is well maintained and clean.

I want to thank the COE for the upgrades to electrical on some sites and turning others that were tiny buddy sites into single sites to accommodate larger modern RVs. This campground hosts 20 times more modern RVs than tents.
There are a few minor issues:
Site D11 needs to be revamped so water does not stand on campsite (in the rock area) after a rain). IE: improve drainage.
Also limbs need to be trimmed all the way against the tree trunk and limbs cut to give a full 14'+ clearance... one stub limb about 2" in diameter nearly caused serious damage to upper side of our camper as we were pulling out (cedar towards front of campsite).
The useless STOP sign at the dump station needs to be removed ASAP. It is in the way of larger campers trying to pull out!! No need for a stop sign at that location NONE!!
When funding permits the dump station should be remodeled to allow for easier access. It is a real pain trying to turn into and out of it, particularly coming from the D section.
