Really enjoyed our stay. Great lakeside campsite. There are few "bad" campsites on the island. We will be back. Very courteous hosts.

Still one of our favorite small campgrounds operated by COE. Gorgeous lake surrounds peninsular campground. Also minutes away from White River dam tailwaters and trout fishing. All clean and functioning facilities.

The site is level, but very difficult to get into. I have a 15’ trailer, and if the adjacent site had been occupied I would not have been able to get in. The two sites are sort of laid-out in a ‘T,’ and a large portion is shared between the two.
There is not a water hook-up at the site; you have to walk about 100 feet. Showers are in the other camping loop.
It was shady with a pretty view of the lake, and a path down to the lakeshore.
I don’t think I would get this site again.

We always enjoy our time at the Damn Site Park in Eureka Springs AR.
We camp quite often since retiring. We’ve noticed a trend the last few years camping in Army Corps and state parks. It’s very difficult to get a site; then we get there, there are many sites vacant the entire time we are there.
We always ask why this is and always get the same answer: they were reserved and didn’t come. One park told us they are seeing 2 week reservations with people hoping to catch a couple of days in the reservation.
I think the parks should go to a confirmation system. If it’s not confirmed by a certain period, the site is opened back up. This would bring us back to a first come/first serve opportunity, which we lost through online reservations.
This would allow more people to enjoy our parks.

We love the lakeside pull thru sites at this CG. We have stayed in 36 and 38. There seems to be some discrepancies in the RV length for site 38. Our GD Reflection 5th wheel is 35’ and it worked fine. 4 stars instead of 5 because the grass was knee high. Also, the dump station is close but not in the park.

Good view of the lake, lot is not level and very difficult to back into. I have a 19’ camper trailer, this spot would be ok for a very small rig….
