What Guests Are Saying
Aux Arc park offers a lovely camping experience with clean, spacious sites and friendly attendants. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views of the Arkansas River, and proximity to local amenities, including dining and shopping in Ozark. While some noted noise from trains and occasional inconsiderate neighbors, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Clean campground but very noisy. It is next to a power plant and you can hear it roar constantly. Railroad tracks across lake with trains all night long. If you want swimming, don't go here. No place to get in the water. But the fishing is great. Campsite next to me had about a dozen massive catfish strung up.

We loved this park. Very easy to back in and beautiful view of the Arkansas River. Bathrooms were clean although we did not use the shower. Was able to dump gray water which helped alot. We are scheduled here again in September although at a different site.

We found our annual trip to Aux Arc over the Memorial Day week very enjoyable as usual...A BIG THANKS to the volunteers that man the park and gate during the week...if they weren't there things would quickly become chaotic...

We love the time we spend at Aux Arc. Always meet new friends and enjoy watching the barges as they “glide” down the Arkansas River. The campground is clean and the “facilities” are always kept very clean.

We decided to spend our holiday weekend at Aux Arc Park. The 1st 3 days and nights were great; nice park and all the facilities were up to par. We were booked from a Thurs to Sun in one spot near our friends and family; however, we had to transfer sites due to prior reservations on Sunday to finish our holiday weekend. This was no problem. The problem occurred when loading and packing our camper before check out at 3pm on Sun. The male park attendant pulled up at our spot at 2:45pm. He told us, "You gotta get out of here" this spot is rented, and I have people waiting to get in this spot. At this point, we were visibly walking around the camper to lift jacks, etc. We asked him if check-out time was still 3pm; if so, we had 10 min and would be gone. He confirmed but said, "I need you to be out of here since someone is waiting." We told him we would be out of the spot at 3pm per the rules and regulations. He definitely did not like our answer, grumbling, "Well, you better be." We vacated the site at 2:59p
We moved into our new reserved spot, and things went great until, once again, the next AM. I was outside our camper enjoying scenery when someone approached our camp at 8:30a, asking when we would leave. I told the gentleman we had reservations until 3pm and had family and friends we would eat lunch with prior to leaving the park. He stated, "so you will be out of here at noon?" I told him I did not know an exact time, but we were grilling out for lunch. Come to find out the gentleman was booked for the upcoming week and wanted in the spot early. He proceeded to wait in his truck at the end of the park until we left.
This is a significant problem! The attendants must enforce the Recreation.gov rules and not allow or promote this behavior. No one should feel pressured to leave their reserved site early. They make these checkout times for a reason allowing a 1hr overlap between check-in and checkout to alleviate these issues. Disappointing experience!

Loved the park and watching the trains go back and forth across the river. Also the barges traveling up and down the river. We had a great time with our camping group!
