This was the first time we've ever been disappointed. The bathrooms were filthy. We watched a couple "clean" both bathrooms in 4 minutes total (not kidding) for both. One day they never got cleaned and their was no toilet paper at all. The view and our campsite were beautiful. However, we were surrounded by campers on 3 sides who had 4-5 constantly barking dogs each. My husband mentioned it to the front entrance woman who said she'd pass it on to the Ranger, but no one ever spoke to any of them. I've never experienced people with so many dogs who ignore their constant barking. It was so disruptive to the normal peace and tranquility of Horseshoe Bend.

We absolutely love Horseshoe Bend. We stay here almost every weekend and won’t stay anywhere else. It’s wonderful being recognized when we check in and Mr. Don is just wonderful. If he doesn’t see us at check in he will always stops and says hi to us when he is out driving around the grounds. The grounds are always clean and the area is fun but also peaceful. We highly recommend Horseshoe Bend.

It was a great campsite. It states that it is a pull through site, however it is not. We are still fairly new backing in a camper but luckily it was easy to get into. That is the only complaint.

Over all really good visit, firepit at our site really needed to be cleaned out and something needs to be done about the geese, they really make a mess at camp sites.

This is a beautiful park. Our double campsite was spacious with plenty of places for our 5 tents. The lake is lovely. Fishing was fun. A little trouble with big boats respecting a no-wake zone for our kayaks. Only complaint is the inadequate number of bathrooms and they desperately need updating.

Had a wonderful time until the buzzards got onto our camper roof and peeled off a section of our roof About a foot by 2 foot section of our roof while we were out fishing one morning and caused about $10,000 in damaged. Now have to have a new roof put on our camper. Hoping you could do something about the buzzards. Talked to several campers and they were discussed about the buzzard droppings on their campsite.

DO NOT reserve site 147. It should actually be closed permanently because the turkey vulchers sit on the table and poop on it constantly. I was told the site is a former bird sanctuary and they won't go away, now they a campsite is there. The site is also too close to the water, making the fire ring unusable. This lake suffers from flooding and they are slow to maintain sites IMO. There were rocks all over the pavement, due to flooding, but they had cleaned up the site to be useable, totally unsafe for kids. Maybe the poor maintenance was due to not being in season on May 12th when we arrived. We switched to site 115, away from the water because that was the only decent site available with power and water. It was nice, with good views. Some sites don't have water, so be careful when you reserve. The dump site at the park exit worked fine. The nearby playground was nice for the grandkids. Overall the park is in good shape, but maintenance was lacking during our visit. The best sites in the 30 range are closed due to flooding. We walked the area and those are absolutely the best waterfront sites, when the water is down. Too bad the authorities can't manage the lake level better. Seems odd they can't predict rainfall adequately to keep the lakes at the right max elevation, instead of causing all the damage from flooding. I'm told it's always a problem. COE must have messed up the design somehow, lacking adequate water management skills.
