What Guests Are Saying
White Cloud is a clean and lovely campsite with well-maintained areas for tents and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a getaway. While there is no water available (even non-potable) and the bathrooms occasionally lack supplies, many guests appreciated the clean vault toilets and the presence of friendly camp hosts. The site offers plenty of shade, access to nearby hiking trails, and a tranquil setting, making it a favorable choice for campers prepared for the limitations.

I love the campground. We had the campsite #3. It had a fire pit but also an “oven” (I don’t know the exact name for this). It was close to spigot, not far from bathroom. The bathrooms were super clean with spigot outside and soap to wash hands. I had cell phone reception (which was good). The manager was very friendly and we got all the information we needed. The bonus was a fantastic weather (even during the night). I also like that the campground was close to Pioneer Trail where we hiked. The only thing I didn’t like was the dust! The dirt was reddish and dusty and would send clouds of dust around.

It was OK. Clean and well kept campsite. Location isn’t ideal, not near any rivers or easy access lakes.

Clean restrooms, orderly campsite. Only complaint is the core campsite was well used and had a lot of dirt/dust.

It was a nice stay but definitely not as comfortable with only one water source available for the whole campground and no camp fire due to high fire season. That said, campground was clean and although you can hear the freeway traffic I was able to have a restful night. Loved exploring the sorroundings.

This campground is clean with large spaces and plenty of tree cover. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the restrictions on fires and propane stoves; I absolutely understand why this was in place, but without notification on the website or via email prior, we did not plan appropriately for the sake of cooking meals.
The lesson learned is to call ahead of time, rather than waiting for them to notify you or to post it clearly online. Also, be sure to check the Tahoe Nat'l Forest's webpage too, as that will have more timely info than recreation.gov.

Overall great campground. Not a far drive to the lake. Hosts were nice & campground clean. Cons for this specific site: you can see and hear cars/trucks driving by constantly, there is a power wire directly above campsite which buzzes a few times a day, the dirt is very fine and gets kicked up easily (especially with dogs). I would come back but would try a site farther from the road.

Very neat and clean campground. Could hear a little bit of Highway 20, but not a ton. We did hear some sirens from the fire station nearby, but only once or twice. Overall, a fun experience.

In accordance with standard industry practices, Tahoe National Forest will assess an additional $5 vehicle fee per day for the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicle in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site.
