What Guests Are Saying
Eshom Campground is praised for its beautiful and serene location, with clean facilities, a helpful host, and enjoyable amenities like a nearby creek and meadow for stargazing. Many guests appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the opportunity for family bonding in a secluded environment. However, accessing the campground can be challenging, requiring a rugged vehicle due to rough roads, and it is relatively far from major attractions like Sequoia Park. Some visitors experienced issues with smoke from prescribed burns during their stay.

Very difficult campground to get to. We ended up on a very rough 8 mile path of unpaved road which needed a vehicle with quite a bit of clearance to drive over many of the boulders. We never made it to our campsite as the read in was too rough for our Minivan. Don’t attempt this campsite unless you have a raised 4x4 and no trailers. You will not reach it otherwise.

Okay.. normally don’t leave reviews on campgrounds but this one is necessary for other campers!!
Very secluded.!!!
Be prepared for a harsh way to get there.
Maybe I didn’t do my research too well on a map but other reviews and the internet made it seem like the lake was near by and the big trees if you want to sight see. But it was an hour and 15 min to arrive to anything like that. Not recommended for long stays unless you’re okay with super secluded.

The campsites are very nice. Most of the roads were paved and in pretty good condition. However for the final 20 minute drive to the campsite, the roads became unpaved and were pretty bumpy and potholes. I would still recommend this as a campsite. The only thing I didn't like about the site was how far it was from everything. It was about an hour drive to get to anywhere from the park here.

We loved the beauty and serenity of this campsite. Would not recommend if you don’t have a 4x4 and plan to drive into Sequoia National Park. To get there, you need to take a Forestry Service road that is unpaved and rough for about 45 mins. Campsite now has bear box(es).
