Good campsite overall, great location, close to Grant Grove. Very large campsite, not level, water closeby, very long distance from restrooms, restroom included sink for dumping doshwater.

Beautiful campground, and very quiet.
Unfortunately it was over a quarter mile walk from our site to the only open restroom. Still, a very nice walk…

We absolutely love Azalea Campground. The campsites are incredibly spacious, flat, and beautifully maintained, which made setting up camp stress-free and relaxing from the moment we arrived. The campground was spotless, including the clean flush-toilet bathrooms and convenient fresh water taps, which really added to the comfort of the stay.
One of the most memorable parts was the peaceful meadow right in the campground. Almost every evening at sundown, deer would quietly appear and graze nearby. It felt like something out of a nature documentary and became the highlight of our nights. The campground was also unbelievably quiet — so quiet that staying up late almost felt awkward because the whole forest settles into complete stillness. It’s the kind of peaceful you rarely experience anymore.
Another thing we loved was being able to walk from camp toward the General Sherman Tree area and spend time among the giant sequoias whenever we wanted. Waking up surrounded by towering trees, cool mountain air, and wildlife made this campground feel genuinely special.
This is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave.

Perfect location! Close to everything we needed and wanted to see. Nicest Rangers out of the five national parks we have visited this year.
