Azalea Campground

Site 82 cannot be backed into going the right way around the loop. While going out to go backwards around the loop another trailer blocked our access since their trailer was very large to get into the space and took over an hour to get settled. We finally got an unreservable spot from the camp host and settled in.
Liked the centralized location of the park to both national parks.

A great campground that is centrally located so you can do both National Parks. We stayed 3 nights. We enjoyed one full day exploring each NP. Our site was pretty small, but our kids enjoyed playing on the nearby boulders.

Azalea Campground is in the woods with big trees all around - beautiful! The sites were not very level and most quite small in length. Restrooms were fairly clean. campground was quite full when we were there in September. The only issue was the sap from the dropping pinecones, and it got all over the bottom of our shoes. Despite that, I would stay here again!

This campground is centrally located and great for hiking and driving to the sequoias!

The campsite overall is clean. Thank you so much to the previous party who took good care of it before they left.
The site has a very good amount of shade for the tent. However, depending on where your neighbors set up their tents, they could be quite close and potentially lead to complaints. But distances are relative, right?
The tent location described above is also on a slope. It’s not very steep, but you can definitely feel the incline/decline when you lie down. After a night of sleeping, you might even end up in a different position than where you started! However, if your cot can be adjusted to accommodate uneven ground, then this shouldn’t be an issue.
The fire pit is also quite far from the area where the tent is located, and the tables are on uneven ground. These are minor issues if neither is essential to your camping setup.
The other campers there during our stay were quiet, which made for a pleasant experience.
The bathrooms are far away, but they are generally clean. I would still bring some sanitizer with you, just in case.
Water access is also very convenient. It’s just across the path.

We would definitely return to the campground in the future.

Perfect spot to see both Sequoia and Kings Canyon. You're up in the trees, fabulous sunsets and deep, starry nights. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained, rangers are available. Spaces have plenty of room and all have a view.

Nice spot. No running water would have been a concern if we had not had the rv.

Great campground surrounded by beautiful trees & a short hike distance to grant tree. Lots of loops uphill getting there, would suggest not to drive at night.
Thought our specific camp site was not completely flat, it was good for a one night stay. Accessible Parking available & Restrooms across the way, which was a plus.

The campground is clean. The visitor center has many exhibitions on the Kings and Sequoia National Parks. The gift shop and market are open all days, however, they are quite a walk from the campground. And there are only two restrooms for the entire campground. With many tents only sites, the campground could use a few more restrooms.
