What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with ample shaded and spacious sites, making it ideal for families and groups. Many campers enjoyed the proximity to trails, visitor centers, and stunning views of the surrounding giant sequoias. While some noted issues with bathroom cleanliness and site proximity, the overall experience was positive, with a strong desire to return for the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Need more vegetation to make sites more private, bathrooms were run down (one toilet would not flush all the time), road into the site was in poor condition, need access to a dump station nearby

Great location, clean, quiet. Site 1 was large with good tent pads.

Nice campsites. Bathrooms are few and far between so take a look at the campground map to make sure your location is right for you.

This is a beautiful campground, but the NPS is making no effort to upgrade (or in some cases even repair) existing facilities. We camped in a tents-only loop that made us hike up a steep hill to the nearest water AND bathroom facilities.

Great campground, quiet at night. Only complaint is the bathroom is extremely run down and needs updated a bit to feel safer. The bathroom sinks also are not very functional because you have to hold the faucet handle down with one hand the entire time.

This is a great campground with many beautiful sites, especially on the outer loops. Site 40 was great! Far from neighbors on either side, a large group of boulders which our kids loved climbing on, and beautiful open wilderness to explore. One negative was between noon and 5 the sun was right overhead and very little shade during those hours, so we melted in the afternoons and used that time to grab ice cream and ice from the nearby store and take some shaded walks. We will definitely be back!

Campground is great but the bathrooms were disgusting. The young man that would come to clean spent most of his time standing at the back of his truck on his cell phone. Someone had explosive diarrhea in tge mens bathroom and the cleaning crew did not clean the seat. Either pay your people more or get someone that wants to work..

My family loved this campground. We had sites 39 and 41, and they were both well shaded and spacious. It is beautiful here!
Negatives - no showers close by, and bathrooms are far apart. But, we would still love to return.

The 50 year old bathrooms are filthy and need to be upgraded. We left the Park early due to these conditions. The health department should be alerted!
