Azalea Campground

Easy access to the sequoias, Panoramic Point, restaurant, etc.

We had a great stay at Azalea, the campsite (79) was about 25ft from the parking lot with the path between two other sites. But it meant our site was large and spacious enough for two tents. Many of the sites at Azalea are definitely not level but we managed to find two level spots for our 3p tents. Bathrooms are down the hill, trash slightly further than I would have liked, otherwise a happy stay.

Amazing site! Had lots of cool rocks to explore and lots of big trees. Plus it was far away from your neighbors so you had a lot of privacy

The campground is great, there’s a trail from the campground to General Grant and we really enjoyed it. The campground is great however this site is not. It’s the closest I’ve ever been to my neighbors camping and there wasn’t any shrubs to separate us. We basically ate dinner staring into each others eyes haha. We did stay at a different site in the same campground and it was nice and gave decent distance between each other. Plus the bathroom near this specific site isn’t great.

Beautiful campground. Our spot was very private .. just what we wanted. Other spots were more social. Everyone respected quiet hours. Highly recommend!

The campground was right next to the Grant grove with many huge sequoias. It is about a 10 minute walk to the market/visitor center/shop. About a 20 minute walk to the grove. About a 45 minute drive to the Sherman grove which was also incredible.

Tout près il y a le centre d'information, un très bon restaurant et une supérette bien pratique.

Azalea campground was our second night in the park after staying at Sentinel in Kings Canyon. The campground is situated on many hills making it difficult to find a flat spot for tents. Seems like its more geared for RVs given the mix. No showers in campground or immediate vicinity so water bottle shower required. On the plus side the high elevation provides cool summer camping at night.

What an amazing site! I’d definitely recommend and stay here again. It’s a very spacious, large site with lots of trees and boulders. It was so scenic and felt very secluded, although it was close to the trails along with the lodge, visitor center, and gift shop.
I will say that the signage wasn’t the best or maybe I just overlooked the site a couple times as I had to loop around a second time then I found it. It’s not close to the bathroom so prepare for a bit of a walk but you’ll enjoy the beauty around you.

the site size was fine for our trailer but there was not enough space to maneuver the trailer into the site due to bushes, trees, rocks, and parked vehicles.
