Azalea Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with ample shaded and spacious sites, making it ideal for families and groups. Many campers enjoyed the proximity to trails, visitor centers, and stunning views of the surrounding giant sequoias. While some noted issues with bathroom cleanliness and site proximity, the overall experience was positive, with a strong desire to return for the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

This campground was confusing to navigate when we arrived after dark the first day, and had no map nor campground host. Had we arrived during the day, it would have been fine, as we discovered the next morning. :) We LOVED our site. It was shady and felt more private by having the meadow at its back. Several deer came over to say hi in the morning. We had easy walking access to Grant Grove village area, water right next to the site, and a short walk to the bathroom. I would 100% stay here again. Several reviews shared concerns about not all the sites being level, and since we were using a cartop tent I carefully selected this one and it was level enough for our needs. The bear box had sufficient space for our supplies.

Stayed in the RV area but did not know the bathrooms were so far away. It was a great place though.

Site 42 worked great for us. We had an extra vehicle that fit fine in the space along with our small trailer and other truck. Close to the water, no trash, good enough. A deer came right through our campsite too!

When we pulled in we didn't like our site
Too small and close to the busy road.
Couldn't find a campground host to change our site and no service to call are change our sites.
Been trying to get a partial refund and no one will reply.
Stay at Sentinel or Sunrise.
Much nicer campgrounds.

Great campsite. Loved the meadow views. Plenty of shade too and relatively quiet here. Only downside was our original site was not level at all so we had to do some switching around with the campground and open sites to try to find a level spot for the van to sleep. Site we stayed was also further from the restroom but the walk wasn’t terrible. Saw some deer in the meadow in the early morning and campfires by the meadow were lovely too. If all the sites were level we would stay again in a heartbeat! If you are staying in a van check the site as best you can.

I go every year. Spacious camp sites and generally quiet. Walk to Grant Grove and the village is q convenience I enjoyed.

Being so close to the sequoias made the experience special, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. That said, the choice of campsite matters, as several sites are located very close to the road. The general store is well stocked with supplies, including firewood, though prices are on the higher side.
