Spacious, shady and campsites with clean restrooms. So many hikes to go on starting at the campground. Judy, the camp host was very helpful with information about the events in the local area. It's just a mile from town, so it was easy to go replenish items like food and ice cream. Our family had 6 campsites and thoroughly enjoyed our time in GV. There was something for everyone from all ages to enjoy.

The 2023 camp hosts are fantastic! We come to this campground every year and this is the cleanest we have ever seen it. The camp hosts were very communicative, efficient, and friendly. It is a beautiful spot!

Great clean campground with clean flushable toilets. Most of the time, I reserve sites with pit toilets so this was a luxury :) There is a trailer that starts at the upper part of the campground. It's closed off to vehicles, but you can walk/hike it. The small town near the lake is very close by. It was enjoyable taking a walk around the lake and enjoying the scenary. Lots of people were fishing off the lake. Found a few off road trails nearby that were fun to explore. Overall, I would definitely come back again.

We stayed at campsite 3 and had a great time. The camp hosts were very friendly and the bathrooms were spotless. My boyfriend mentioned that the men's restroom near us did not have a toilet seat, so hopefully, that will be fixed soon. The bathrooms have flushing toilets, stocked toilet paper, and running water. They do not have soap or anything to dry your hands, so just an FYI. I brought soap and a towel with me. We bought 2 bundles of firewood from the camp host on day 1 bc it was very convenient but it's a small bundle for $8. The next day we went on a hunt for a wheelbarrow full of local firewood.

The campsite has plenty of shade, a picnic table, a campfire ring, and a semi-secluded spot for our tent. The bear box came in handy since we had a raccoon visitor all night on day 1 the size of a dog. He was very well fed. He never came close to us but stayed right next to our campsite at sundown watching to see if we would walk away from any food left out. So beware, the masked bandit makes his rounds. That was the only time we saw (heard) him. After that, he didn't bother us since we left nothing for him. Use the bear box.

There are water spigots nearby in case you need to refill. We brought plenty of our drinking water so we only needed to refill the water we used to clean with. On day 2 we had neighbors move in and we decided to move our small 3-person tent next to the picnic table so we wouldn't hear them and it was warmer near the fire. They were very respectful but with kids, they get loud without meaning to. It was just more quiet facing toward the road.

The shops near the lake were all closed on Thursday so if you arrive during the week, be prepared to have everything you need. On Friday the small store was open until bout 6pm so we grabbed some ice. The restaurants were not open until Saturday when we left. We didn't mind since we were there to camp and cook our food.

Great experience, we will be back!
