Great smaller campground on the river! Between 2 lakes and plenty of offroading, hiking, swimming options!

Great location next to the Little Truckee river. Clean camp, fire rings, and pit toilettes. Great for an overnight stay.

Site 3 was great. Right next to the river. The sound of water was loud and relaxing. After setting up at about 2pm, it started hailing and raining like crazy. No flooding or anything. We were lucky the sun was pretty much out the whole time. There was no shade.

The only complaint is all the sites here are pretty close to the main road so you can definitely hear people who are speeding or driving loud trucks. When it’s quiet it’s a heavenly place. We also ran into fire restriction which wasn’t listed at the time of reservation. Some people still went ahead and started fire anyways. Site 3’s tent location is immediately adjacent to site 2 parking spot so you can definitely hear quite clearly people going in and out of the car.

Overall a beautiful place. We definitely love to be back.

Each campsite has a grill over the fire pit, a tent sand pit, and a bear box; the campground has a huge bear-safe dumpster and non-potable water; the bathrooms are clean; and the sound of the river is beautiful. Access to the reservoir is only a 5-minute drive. We loved site number 8 because it is tucked away and has extra nature areas to explore behind it.

No host, & portable toilets where we were supposed to park, moved to adjacent site & paid daily. Had to call and get refund.
Other than that nice area.
