What Guests Are Saying

Boyington Mill is a charming campsite with a beautiful location next to the Little Truckee River, offering clean facilities and a friendly atmosphere. Most sites are well-maintained with amenities like fire pits, bear boxes, and access to nearby recreational activities. However, there are some management issues, including inaccurate site pictures and limited restroom facilities, which can be a concern during busy times. Overall, guests enjoyed their stays and expressed a desire to return.

Nice little campsite! River running behind, 2 different reservoirs up the road and Truckee, CA is close if you need a store or restaurant. 1 pit toilet, some sites are close to each other, but I enjoyed my stay and would go again.

Pictures of campsites were very inaccurate. It made it appear that they had shade however, there was absolutely no shade in our spot and most of the spots in this campground.

Honestly, we had a great time. But we paid for spot three a month previous.

Someone was in spot two that did not leave until 6 PM so our spot three was taken by someone else that was supposed to be in spot two. There was no camp host available to do anything about it. We had to take the camp host spot. Or drive an hour back home…. Basically great spot but poor/zero management.

Great campground Central to Little Truckee. It was pretty quiet during the week. No complaints!

We had a great trip. The site is well maintained and included tent pads, tables, a bear box, and firepit. There is a newly added tank of non-potable water near the restroom with a spigot on the front. Other campers were respectful. The one negative was there is only 1 pit toilet M/F for the whole site. It wasn't full during our visit so it wasn't a problem but I could imagine a line forming on a busy night. Overall, we had an amazing time and will visit again.

Great smaller campground on the river! Between 2 lakes and plenty of offroading, hiking, swimming options!

Site 3 was great. Right next to the river. The sound of water was loud and relaxing. After setting up at about 2pm, it started hailing and raining like crazy. No flooding or anything. We were lucky the sun was pretty much out the whole time. There was no shade.

The only complaint is all the sites here are pretty close to the main road so you can definitely hear people who are speeding or driving loud trucks. When it’s quiet it’s a heavenly place. We also ran into fire restriction which wasn’t listed at the time of reservation. Some people still went ahead and started fire anyways. Site 3’s tent location is immediately adjacent to site 2 parking spot so you can definitely hear quite clearly people going in and out of the car.

Overall a beautiful place. We definitely love to be back.
