When I booked this site #2 it looked really nice in the pics. Well when we got there it didn’t look like the pics at all!! The river was a little walk down the steep hill and there was absolutely no shade and we were right next to the camp host. Their motorhome was basically on top of our tent. We could hear them constantly at night.
That really was a bothersome.
There is no water- which we did know about that but it was an inconvenience to not have water. Overall it was ok. If we do decide to come back- we would stay in campsite # 10 or #12
Make sure u get all your information. The camp host was constantly gone during the day everyday.
Bring plenty of water and a canopy.
If your tent is bigger than 10ft x10ft it won’t fit in the tent pad.
Boca Lake is just a 3 min drive from the campground.

They vastly improved the campground during the COVID shut down. Ample bear lockers and defined camp sites. Staff, as always, are friendly and helpful. Location gives you easy access to fish the Little Truckee.

This is a no frills campsite. Very bare and rugged with the exception of the vault toilets. The spaces along the Little Truckee River are very small and cramped as well as rocky. There are only two sites that have easy access to the river but I wouldn’t consider this a swim spot as the river runs very quickly.

Nice spot along the river, not much privacy due to large dirt infield among campsites.
