What Guests Are Saying
French Meadows offers a beautiful and remote camping experience with clean facilities, spacious sites, and easy access to a lovely lake for swimming and kayaking. Campers appreciate the quiet atmosphere and helpful staff, though some note that the roads can be challenging and the descent to the water is steep and rocky, making it less suitable for families with young children. Overall, visitors enjoy the scenic views, cleanliness, and tranquility of the campground.

The reservoir was great for our kayaking weekend. The campsite is well maintained and all the sites are well spaced and close enough to the water. The drive to this location is kind of crazy and not great for those who don’t like heights but I survived. ;)

This campground was surprisingly very pleasant. Only thing is that the lake side very rocky, if you are looking for a sandy beach maybe skip this one. Otherwise it was a great stay.

The campground is clean and overall well maintained. When we went drinking water and flush toilets were working, so that was great. No fires of any type allowed, including gas stoves, but we were warned by email a few days before the trip. The situation may have changed now.
Many people there come with RVs and have potentially screaming kids and/or generators, but overall not too bad.
The sunset over the reservoir is beautiful! ANd the campground is just 1-2 minutes walk from the shore.
Be prepared for a long (40 miles - 1h20) drive on a winding mountain road with beautiful views of the valleys.
No phone reception with T-Mobile
