Disappointed with restrooms located near smaller campsites. Also, the original booking turned out to be a campsite built on a rock pile with rock steps that were very high and steep. Even the camp host agreed no one likes to camp there. There should be images or explanations of the sites.

A gorgeous campground and friendly host. The only downfall is a very windy long drive to get there.

Cherry Valley was great! The camp host JJ and Campdog host "Zeke" were awesome! They were very hospitable and very attentive to the campers. JJ takes care of things right away. Getting there is not bad for a regular vehicle, but for longer trailers or Class A's I wouldn't recommend, the road winds downhill then winds uphill once you pass the powerplant all the while narrow. As far as camping it is next to the lake but it is about a 20 min steep walk but defininately worth it. We did camp in early May so we beat the rush of summer campers. We want to try to go back this season before summer ends. It's one of our favorite camping spots. Also, be advised : there's potable water, pit toilets and NO available showers.

Being a tourist, I had no idea that Cherry Valley is in the middle of freakin' nowhere. The roads are basically a once-upon-a-time paved logging road. Driving them at night is borderline dangerous. We cancelled our reservation after one night and never received a refunded for the remaining two nights.
I'm sure Cherry Valley is good fishing and a great place for locals, but as a tourist looking for a site close the Yosemite - this ain't it!

  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
