What Guests Are Saying
Dimond O Campground offers a pleasant stay with well-maintained sites, friendly hosts, and clean bathrooms. Visitors appreciate the beautiful surroundings, privacy between campsites, and proximity to Yosemite National Park. However, some drawbacks include limited water availability, noise from the camp host's generator, and the rustic facilities.

Facilities were well maintained, clean and campsites well laid out. Really enjoyed my first visit to this area.

Pros:
- LOCATION: Right between Yosemite Valley and Hetch Hetchy, near a lake with swimming ($)
- COWS: They're cute and they occasionally wandered into the campsite.
Cons:
- NASTY BATHROOMS: Unmaintained, terrible smell, no TP, no lights
- NO DISHWASHING OR SHOWERS: It was not realistic for 2+ night stays, so people were definitely washing dishes and their bodies in the bathroom.
- NO CAMP HOST OR RANGER PRESENCE: The federal government has contracted out the maintenance of this site, and we didn't see them once during our 3-night stay. You're on our own out here. We felt like we paid the same amount of money as other sites, without any of the benefits of having a camp host. Such as...
- NO WOOD FOR SELL: We knocked multiple times on the camp host's door over 3 days, but never got an answer or saw a soul. We had to travel into town to get wood.
- NO QUIET HOURS ENFORCEMENT = LOTS OF NIGHT NOISE: Absolutely no help here because again, no sight of a camp host. We chose to camp at Dimond O, outside of the popular Yosemite Valley, because we wanted a quieter experience where we could enjoy being in nature and the sound of crickets. However, there was noise from large groups well-past quiet hours during all of the 3 nights of our stay. Make sure to bring earplugs if you're trying to not be up until 2am.

Beautiful site, next to the river. Nice distance between campsites. Good level place for tent. Good arrangement of picnic table, fire ring, bear box. Car screened by shrubs so we didnt have to see it but it was right there. River paths and lovely shallow pond area with sloped rocks. Pleasant drive to Yosemite entrance.
Only negative.... restrooms were icky.
Good far outweighed that...would def stay here again!

Campground is very nice and clean. Everything was in working condition - bear proof containers, restrooms, running water and others. Parking space is enough for 2 sedans.
Nature itself is amazing! Plenty of hiking, amazing Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, Yosemite is close!! Awesome experience!
Oh yes - River nearby where you can swim a little bit and very nice host!

It was a great campsite! It was well maintained, no rocks on the tent site to clear off, flat and dry. The fire pit was clean and it had a bear-proof storage container that wasn't messy like many other sites. We really enjoyed our stay there.
The only issue I found, was that it was difficult at the start to find someone to tell us which site was ours. We ended up driving around the campground until we found a site that was empty and had a piece of paper at the parking spot with my initials on it. Because we couldn't find an attendant when we first arrived, we were just hopeful someone else didn't have the same initials as me and that it was actually our site before pitching the tent. Eventually the attendant, who was very friendly and helpful, came by and we were able to verify that it was our spot.
It is only a little bit outside of the Yosemite National Park, but it is really a long drive from Yosemite town centre; about an hour or so. The benefit to this was that the campsite was quiet, they were well spaced so we were not right on top of other campsites like we saw w the sites directly in the park.
Highly recommend this campground. You get some spectacular overviews when driving in from the campground that you may not see otherwise.

Right next to Yosemite - it is a beautiful area. Bathrooms were only pit toilets, but super clean. Just a beautiful place!
