What Guests Are Saying
Fairview Campground offers a stunning location with spacious and clean campsites, many right next to the river, perfect for family activities like fishing and tubing. The camp amenities, including clean bathrooms and friendly hosts, enhance the overall experience. However, some visitors reported issues with wasps and minor inconveniences with campground management, but these did not significantly detract from the enjoyment for most guests.

the campsite was clean and had room for our large tent and then some, i would say the only issues is that we had to clean out our fire pit as it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a good while. will have to look up more hikes next time we go!

Clean campsite, bathrooms.
It got pretty noisy when more campers arrived, but that's to be expected.

Fairview Campground is a beautiful, quiet campground. It has ample fishing holes nearby and offers quite a few spots right on the river. I have made four separate trips to the campground and will continue to return in the future.

The camp site was pleasant, but very narrow and rocky. Not good for more than one tent. There were other, broad and flat campsites however. There were also many, many wasps that came out in the morning when we were cooking. They weren't much of a problem in the evening however.

Our family has been coming to the Upper Kern River to camp since the mid 2000's & Fairview is one of our favorite pay campsites. If you are looking to camp with the family & have a good time at the Kern this is one of the best sites to do it at. Just remember to respect the river & do as much research as you can before entering the water.

People with generators and bright lights and a lot of people in their camps is really distracting. One family had about 30 people at three campsites — it was just too much, people tromping around and using the facilities. On the other side was a family that had a flood light directed at our campsite at night. We had to leave our campsite to relax — ended up spending too much time at the restaurant nearby to get away. I even turned on the brights on my car and just let it shine on their camp in return so they would know how annoying it was, but it didn't bother them. We loved this campsite, but the people there were the most disrespectful I've encountered at any campground. I think there should be a bit more vigilance from the rangers or a few more rules. We also had a camp on a hill so that could have added to the annoying neighbors. Next time, we will definitely get a more secluded camp or just not go at all.
