What Guests Are Saying
Fairview Campground offers a stunning location with spacious and clean campsites, many right next to the river, perfect for family activities like fishing and tubing. The camp amenities, including clean bathrooms and friendly hosts, enhance the overall experience. However, some visitors reported issues with wasps and minor inconveniences with campground management, but these did not significantly detract from the enjoyment for most guests.

This campground is great! Each campsite is fairly separated from each other, which allowed for a bit of seclusion/privacy. Each site included a picnic table and fire pit. There are several communal restrooms, and they are basic. But that's fairly normal for this type of campground. There were taps for potable water, which was convenient.
As for activities, the river is super close, so if fishing is your thing, you're covered. There are several nearby trails within both walking and driving distance, which is one of the allures of this area. Depending on your campsite size, you could easily setup smaller outdoor games like corn hole, horseshoes, etc. and possibly setup mid to larger games like volleyball. (Just know that summer time in nearly all parts of Kernville and the lower Sequoias can be brutal because of the heat! But when the weather is nice, it's perfect.)
The camp host was incredible. He was very friendly, accommodating, and really worked to help solve any issues. You can tell him and the other camp staff kept things clean, also. Restrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper and dumpsters were emptied. We appreciated those details very much. Those things go such a long way when your main focus is enjoying your camping trip.

Bring a small to medium size tents. There’s a lot of boulders in the campsites And there’s limited space. But I love it because it’s right next to the river, and the restrooms are very clean . First time being there. Luckily, I have an off grid Subaru and it allowed me to sleep inside. With 37° outside lol

Very clean comfortable campsite with running water. Right by the river. Close access to hiking trail.
Right next door to a great burger joint named McNally's. I never enjoy pit toilets, but it was well maintained and as clean as they get. Each site has a nice parking spot right there. The online reservation system works great and is very convenient to use. The ability to modify dates and change sites is great.
Thanks for a great camping experience!

Beautiful place, clean bathrooms. Camp site was next to river. Mauricio the host was awesome, gave us good fishing spots and was overall helpful with our questions. We will be back.

I have been camping at the Fairview Campground since the late '60s. Spend time there almost every year — 50+ years. The roads and pads at the campsite are in terrible shape — doesn't affect the camping experience — other than decades of the lack of maintenance will become very expensive to bring the campground into a proper condition; but this isn't why I am leaving a review . . .
The "quality" of the campground hosts varies from year to year. The campground host, Maury or Morrie (not sure of the spelling) is the absolute best host we have ever encountered at this campsite or the other campsites in the area. Hard working, pleasant guy!! I hope you give him this feedback.

Excellent spot super close to river bank. Ground is mostly flat, some large boulders in site. We fit three tents easily, fire pit was great to have. Would recommend this spot
