What Guests Are Saying
Deer Creek Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean facilities, friendly camp hosts, and great access to the lake, making it a popular choice for camping and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained campsites and ease of reserving spots online. However, some concerns were raised about limited restroom availability, occasional cleanliness issues, and the need for more campground options, particularly during busy seasons. Overall, it remains a cherished destination for many campers.

The bathrooms were a total mess no tp. Worst I've seen and I come yearly several times. Loren and Betty were missed! Rich and Alma dearly missed. Carmen, missed also.

Campsite 25 is nice and has a good location, but not the best in the campground. It's not right next to the lake but fairly close to the boat ramp. Close to the water station. It has partial shade with full sun mid-day. The bear box seems smaller than the ones I saw at other sites. You do not need to purchase firewood if you are able to walk around and gather it yourself as there is plenty of wood lying around. Restaraunt is way over-priced.
Two out of four bathrooms were closed but instead of leaving twice as much toilet paper and soap in the open ones, they left the regular amount, so there was no soap or toilet paper half the time.

We have been coming to Deer Creek for 40 years and it is one of our favorite campgrounds. With that said, we were extremely disappointed in our visit this year. On the day we arrived we went to check in and there was no one at the kiosk. We went by numerous times during the day for the next few days and still no-one there. The walking paths and road in the campsite were in disarray and there was no camp host (they arrived 5 days later). We were told by an employee who had arrived that day and works for the company that runs the campgrounds around Huntington Lake, that the flush toilets at Deer Creek were not working and we were informed that the nearest toilet (pit toilet) was at the boat launch area or the day area, both of which were about 1/4 mile away. This is unacceptable. If you advertise running water and flush toilets the people who operate the campsites should arrive at least 1 week prior to opening to the public to make sure everything is in working order. Hopefully this will not happen again.

Our spot was actually a double spot, which was not made clear when we made the reservation. Our slide out was practically touching the camper next to us. There was also a big transformer power line on the shore of the lake in our camp spot as well. So beware when making a reservation. We ended up just staying one night!

This is a beautiful lakefront (direct access) campsite. In the early morning, when the wind is calm, the lake is like a mirror, serene beauty.
