What Guests Are Saying

Oh Ridge Campground offers a stunning location with beautiful lake access and spacious, clean campsites, making it a favorite for families and returning visitors. Despite some issues with restroom accessibility and a lack of showers, most guests appreciate the friendly staff and the well-maintained facilities. While there are concerns about parking fees and campground maintenance, the overall atmosphere and scenic views make it a desirable camping destination.

Amazing access to lake & view of mountains.
The bathrooms were closed for an entire day & there isn’t a whole lot of trees/shade. Gets hot during middle of day.

ENFORCE requirement to keep vehicles on the paved parking space. I was camped in 57 Rabbit loop right above a camp in Squirrel. For several days in a row, that Squirrel camp parked vehicles well off the pad and tore up the soil and created dust. The camp host did nothing to enforce the parking rules. Very unpleasant experience for those of us in that area.

Oh Ridge Campground has been a favorite camping spot for us, and we truly enjoy the location and overall atmosphere. That said, the age of the campground is definitely starting to show. Many areas could use some TLC, especially the roads, which are in pretty rough shape. Tree roots have pushed the asphalt up in numerous places, making driving and walking a bit challenging.

While we still love camping here and appreciate its charm, some updates and maintenance would go a long way in improving the overall experience.

We’ve been going here for years for the Alpha triathlon. Gone are the quiet, peaceful nights and the chill beach days. This used to be a place where everyone followed camping etiquette, respected their *very close* neighbors, and still had a good time. Now it’s a bunch of Flat Landers who don’t deserve to be there, their loud music & yells reverberating throughout the canyon into the middle of the night. The camp hosts don’t do anything about it. The beach is best at sunrise, but thereafter gets PACKED. Recent years, they charge even campers to park there. By day’s end, the gagging fumes of the toilets can be smelled down the far end of the beach. The campground is just okay, typical for a CA campground (OR’s are far superior IMO). No showers, soap, or electric outlets in the bathrooms. Long lines to check in/get to beach, but no way to bypass it if you’re just trying to get back to your site. EVERY YEAR without fail plumping goes out for almost an entire day. Now we expect it, hang out in Mammoth for that day. Why not upgrade with all of those CA taxes you’re stealing from us? The last complaint about this year were the mice, thanks to CA’s idiotic move to use an “environmentally friendly” rat poison that grossly failed (not surprising to anyone with a brain…something those running this state lack entirely). They got into my car, chewed the insulation, made a nest in my glove box. 11 mice drowned in water bowl first night. With traps & honey I killed 2+ mice per night inside my cab. I even took one mouse in my engine 300 miles north! Given the general state of every CA campground I visit, I think it’s time to head back out into the wilderness and stick with Oregon for recreational camping.

We loved the location and its proximity to June Lake; however, there are not enough restroom locations in the park for the number of campgrounds there. We were in the COYOTE section. Each day we waited in a line to use the restroom that was a good distance from the campsite. Also, our site had its fire ring situated right next to the neighboring campers picnic table and tent area, very awkward. It was an end site, 073 COYO with a huge area to relocate the arrangement but recommend this particular site if you are sharing both sites. Camp hosts were very nice.
