The campground is right in town and close to great hiking. The sites are difficult to get into with a larger RV. Most are perpendicular to the road and consequently tough to maneuver into with all the lovely trees.

Love this campsite! It is a favorite. Great for kids and close to a great park. Besides a late night bear waking us up in the campsite all was good! That is just part of tent camping in Mammoth. Super close to all the great hikes and lakes.

Love Old Shady Rest! Family camping there since 2006. Walking distance to many shops, restaurants and Town Loop. Our favorite hikes include Devil's Postpile/Rainbow Falls, Sherwin Lake, and Mammoth Rock. Nearby park for children. Can't say enough good things.
