This was such a great campground!! Love how we were surrounded by trees and got to walk to the creek. Also loved how each site had a bear box included!

The pictures of this campground absolutely do not give it justice. Just driving to the campground was amazing but actually seeing our site in person really made it. I can’t stress enough how nice the camp hosts were to us. Came and said hello right when we got there, always had a smile every time they pasted by us. The bathrooms were clean for what you can expect for a vault toilets and the dumpsters were close but not too close. The creek is walking distance and my husband actually caught a brown trout out of it. Overall the whole experience far exceeded our expectations and we will be camping at Sherwin Creek every time we head up to mammoth.

To reiterate there are no showers and no electricity and pit toilets!
Decent cell service to make calls
Loved the ability to get away
Had an amazing stay, the hosts were very friendly, trail head nearby!
Great brewery basicallly down the street
The river nearby is very therapeutic
But potential for a lot of RVs/Trailers meaning generator noise…

Nice campsites and clean restrooms. Loud generators from many campsites, loud music from two near campsites, but this seemed ok or tolerable for most people. I left a day early for these reasons. I personally would prefer using my senses for hearing stream water, breeze rustling the trees, and listening to wildlife while enjoying the fresh air and night sky. Wonderful trails to run and mnt bike. The road cycling for sightseeing and grand fondo race were excellent.

If you want to drive you off road vehicle on forest roads, this is the place to be. The area is laced with dirt roads. We saw many people with young children hiking off to use the creek to cool off. There is a hiking trail nearby, and a motocross track about a mile away.
