My family and I have been camping, fishing, hiking at this lake campground for almost 40 years. We love fishing and found renting a fishing boat from the resort next door on the lake a good experience, though the lake no longer stocks fish. The site 40 we reserved for 12 days had no gravel with only powdery dirt that blew up into the air every time (the wind blew every afternoon--at times severely) the wind blew. We were covered with dirt and had no other site we could obtain. After several days, my grandson and I collected gravel into sand pails from the side of the road and covered most of the dirt with gravel to make it bearable. Next, the showers were closed. People were bathing in the stream! At one point, all the bathrooms were closed. People were putting diapers in the toilets. Additionally, there are no bushes or trees on this site. We lost our easy-up and had no shade or protection from the rain (3 days). My husband spent a day driving to the few local cities to find a new easy-up, but since the K-Mart in Bishop closed, the few hardware/camp supply stores had none! I would recommend that each spot has at least one tree, which will provide some shade and block some wind. Furthermore, we had someone stealing our firewood each night. My husband sat in the dark and surprised the thief! Now for the finale, two nurses we spoke to said that they tested positive for Covid-19 and came to the campground to self-isolate. For our only vacation this year, it was not the best. Lastly, on a positive note, the new camp hosts were very kind, and with time will be great hosts.

General
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations
- Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from area after eating; always keep a clean camp and do not feed any wild animals; campground host has bear literature
- Only 2 pets per site allowed.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 924-5500, or the Mono Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 647-3044.
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. In accordance with standard industry practices, Inyo Recreation will assess an additional $10.00 extra vehicle fee per day for the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicle in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered one vehicle, and the third and fourth motorcycle are also considered one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
- Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of the second day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.
- Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
