What Guests Are Saying
Butte Lake Campground offers a beautiful, quiet location with clean facilities, access to hiking trails, and a serene atmosphere surrounded by nature. Many visitors enjoyed the stunning views, wildlife interactions, and recreational options like kayaking and swimming. However, concerns were raised about the rough access road, lack of cell service, and limited information or support on-site, which could impact the overall camping experience.

If yo are some one who loves the silence of a campground, and a beautiful night sky, this is the place to be!
If you love a good hike , this is a campground to be at!
If you are going to whine about your car doing an unpaved road, you will still love the campground!

The ranger office was all boarded up, which was sad. And we weren't sure anybody was there to watch out for campers. Usually there is at least a campground host available. No service and no rangers.

Campgrounds were very nice, enjoyed having clean facilities, and running water. Had a bad experience with the specific site B08. It’s a very sloped and off camber site with the only flat spot way up near the picnic table, so that’s where I put my small camper. Went for a hike and got back to find a “ticket” saying I parked outside the boundaries and I did not display my entrance fee payment. Neither were accurate, I parked where the posts were placed, and my senior pass was hanging from my mirror. Not sure what the person was doing, but they need to improve their observation skills. Kind of ruined my day and given the fact there is no way to communicate from Butte Lake, no way to discuss and understand what happened.
