Manzanita Lake

Nice campground - loved the hot showers.
I visited in May just after Memorial Day so the place was quiet; it was the perfect time to visit. There was a lot of bird activity on the lake in the morning. There are trails to be had that start virtually right out of the campground. Couldn’t have quicker access to Lassen VNP as you are right inside the entrance and there’s a lot to explore.

The park is absolutely gorgeous with amazing views you dont even need to leave the car for. A road that goes all the way through taking you past snowy peaks, alpine lakes, grassy fields with clear streams and some truly breathtaking views of the hills and valleys around. Plenty of pullout points, a fun informational station and giftshop with bathrooms at various points along the way. Easy hikes to do as well as places for snow sports which seemed popular even in june. Plenty of parking available with a Cafe at the information center that had indoor and outdoor seating. Park was accessible, easy to navigate and stunning to drive through let alone hike.

Nice place. Roads and facilities are in good shape. Only issue was everyone decided to have a campfire at the same time in the evening and it got a bit Smokey (no wind).

Superb campground with all the amenities

We were in B6 and it was very level. Good trees for a hammock and the campground, including restrooms and showers was very clean. Loop B was the quietest so we got lucky. This is a beautiful area with many trails for hiking to choose from. The little store was convenient with helpful, friendly staff and an excellent barista for the morning brew. Definitely will be back again.

Great campsite with great facilities. Very pretty scenery. Privacy is a little lacking, but it is camping after all! Lots of bathrooms and trash cans in the campground.

Walk around the lake was WONDERFUL. Mostly flat making it accessible for those of us with walking challenges, views were amazing, places to pull off the trail for private reflection.

Manzanita Lake Campground is a clean, beautiful campground surrounded by towering pine trees. The restrooms were well maintained, and the camp store was a nice bonus, it's not often you find a campground with a convenient store on-site.
We stayed at Site B42, which was less than ideal. It's fairly exposed and sits right along the campground road, with little privacy compared to many of the other sites. That said, despite some reviews claiming otherwise, we had a perfectly flat spot for our 4-person tent and even found an ideal place to hang a hammock.
Even with the less-than-perfect site, we had a wonderful stay. The only reason for four stars instead of five is the campsite layout and some particularly loud campers nearby.
One highlight was hiking the Manzanita Lake Trail. The forest was glowing with vibrant lime-green moss, and the views of Lassen Peak and Loomis Peak were absolutely stunning. We'd gladly stay here again, just in a different campsite.
