Without a host, people were not respecting the usual guidelines. People weren't keeping their vehicles on the pavement, and we're parking in the dirt.
One camper couple with a large white dog bragged about taking it hiking into the backcountry- infuriating!
Lassen itself is of course glorious and serene if you can get away from those who aren't respectful of others and appreciative of where they are.

Some sites were a bit jammed together and/or shared a parking area. A loop sites on the outer edge were great. Loved the hikes nearby

Short walk to Summit lake day use area through the campground which was really nice. Plenty of water bibs and trash cans. Saw 1 bear and 4 dear over the few days we were there. It’s close to the main road but we didn’t really notice the road most the time.

The spaces are small but well maintained. Some have no shade due to fallen trees. The lake is beautiful and nice to swim in. The bathrooms are excellent with actual flushers. Its the quietest camp ground I have ever been at. The hike to Echo lake is not to be missed. Easy hike with gorgeous lake for picnic and swimming. Views of Lassen on the trail. Lassen is a hidden gem of a park.
