Area was nice, water was on, bathrooms were clean. A downside was that we were in the TENT ONLY Loop, Loop D, and there were lots of motor homes and trailers in there. The bugs were annoying, mosquitos and no-see-ums, so bring bug spray.

Always amazing to be at Lassen. The lack of NPS staff is very evident-from noise control to the cleanliness of the facilities and dogs on trail.

Lassen is a great park and we had a lot of fun. We camped on the South side of the lake which has a pretty lakefront but the shore isn't accessible because of mud and plants, you have to go over to the North side when required driving. Our campsite and the one next to use that we also reserved had very little shade, most of the trees had been cut down. It was therefore extremely hot and sunny and unusable for 6 hours a day. The bathrooms on the south side have pit toilets but the north side has flush toilets and sinks. I did enjoy Lassen but will camp on the north side of the lake next time.
Kings Creek Meadow is a great place for little kids to run around. We did not do any hiking because my kids are little. I heard the Lily Pond trail was good for kids but I had dogs and they aren't allowed on trails. We spent a lot of time at Summit Lake
