Not the park fault but on our last day there is a tornado past by destroy all our stuff canopy flying all over the lake. It was extremely hot in the morning suddely weather change to thunderstorm at midnight around 12am we heard people yelling kids crying. We force to leave the camp at 1am.

My group reserved lots 1, 2, 3, and 16. Lot 1 was the best out of the 4. It's nice and big and has a great view of the lake. It also has a lot of shade and was very big. We liked that it had a shortcut to go fishing and to use the solo bathroom/showers. Lot 3 was the smallest and had 0 shade. We used it just for parking. Lots 2 and 16 are next to each other and great to get together if you have a big group. It had nice shade and great parking. The camping bathroom/showers are not ideal. I do recommend the solo bathroom/showers as they are cleaner. Bug zappers are a must for nighttime. I suggest bringing pepper to sprinkle on the ground to detour ants. I had my furbabies with me and used pepper around their bed so ants wouldn't crawl on it. The daytime lake area is far from the camp site. I recommend driving. Bring your fishing gear. Lots of fish.

The rec area camping was very well maintained. The park ranger came by regularly throughout the day. The shower in one bathroom near our camp was not working. And as soon as they were notified, they had it fixed. All of these sites are far enough apart to still enjoy your privacy. We'll definitely camp here again.

Had a great Memorial Day weekend at Buckhorn. Only drawback was the lack of showers available. Thanks for a great experience.

We had a beautiful lakefront pull through site, comfortable weather in May 2023, as we had no hook ups. Potable water and dump station was convenient. Restrooms clean with hot showers. Quiet and peaceful for our stay. We recommend highly and would stay again. The lake was full May 2023 and gorgeous morning bird show.

Love the hot showers, and there’s a wash bin behind the bathrooms to wash dishes. Very convenient. Amazing lake access and activities. We stay here once a year.

I had a spot overlooking the lake. The views were wonderful as the lake is at it’s highest level in years. There was a lot of bird activity, especially at nightfall. People could be seen across the lake fishing until dark. My spot, #39, was near other campers. Fortunately, they were very courteous, however the walk to the bathroom was rather long.

The group camp was very enjoyable. The restrooms were very clean and the request for more toilet paper was quickly answered.
