Site 17 was a great view but no shade. Short walk to RR and next to a spigot. Locally you can see bison on a ranch. We parked and took pics :)

Wonderful place for star gazing; it seemed isolated from light pollution.
I was surprised at the "prarie-like" setting. Definitely not a woodland.

The physical campground itself and the host were great. However, the other people staying at the campground completely ruined the experience. This location is basically a party spot where large groups of people get drunk and stay up all night being loud, and occasionally getting into fights. It was drunken, noisy, chaos. If you are looking for a relaxing campground experience this is not the place to go.

I really enjoyed my campsite at Buckhorn with the water view and distance from other campsites. The setup and location is wonderful and I enjoyed a dip in the water. The only downside was the mosquitos that came out at night, leaving me no choice but to be inside my van for the evening after the sun set.

The group camp STILL has a shower that does not work. The door won't even open. There is not even a note on the door!

A perfect view for a perfect night. We loved it. And as always will be back. Only thing I did not like was the person on the golf cart checking reservations expecting people to shout their names first and last from far away rather than approaching them to ask. It's ok to get off of the golf cart to respect people's privacy rather than announcing to the world who they are.
