Could have just been unlucky when I visited but it was very hot and loud. Might be better another time of year. But it was close to I-5 and easy to find.

Well, part of the problem was it was a 100+ degree day. After the sun went down there were tons of bugs fliying around. The site listed flushing toilets and a shower - we never found the shower and the toilets closest to us were vault toilets. We stayed at site 57 - we later found that near site 46 was a flushing toilet, but it was apparently not cleaned very much as there were tons of spiders and mosquitoes in there (shouldn't the spiders be eating the mosquitoes?), plus a huge beetle in the men's urinal. Bug-loving nephew would've loved it. Couldn't find a decent map of the campground that showed where the showers were and which toilets were flushing (best map I found was https://www.spk.usace.army.mil/Portals/12/documents/Ops%20Updates/Black%20Butte%20Lake%20Campground%20Maps%202020.pdf?ver=p1ZJRuSyzUqoIpLZEswFtw%3D%3D). And to top it off there was a large party nearby playing some music and talking loud way past 10pm - fortunately, their playlist was not bad and pretty varied (some country, "Dance Monkey", "Head Over Heels", etc.), but that plus the heat made it hard to get to sleep.

This is a major boating reservoir, and I am not a boater. Car access to the shoreline means no vegetation of any kind along the shore. Bathrooms were a total mess, with all flush toilets that I saw (and I looked at too many) clogged and filthy.

Great place for a weekend getaway! Site’s are clean, water was awesome. The playground is awesome, to keep our 3 yr. Grand daughter entertained, with her siblings. The only issue is there were a lot of black widows spiders in the bathrooms. As we love to camp during the summer, this is one place we will definitely be coming back to year after year!!

It was really hot when we were there, but luckily there was a breeze. The campsite was quiet and the facilities were clean. I chose the wrong site, across from the pit toilet - the smell was pretty strong. Next time I would be more careful about that.

I was never given my refund of $30 for my cancellation of three days in a camp spot that we didn't even use. I paid $60 for 3 days and we decided to change campsites, so I paid for 1 day plus the $10 fee requested and expected to be given the other $30 refunded and it was never given, nor was my emails ever responded to. So they made out an extra $60 plus the other $60 for the spot we did use.
Make sure you get the site you want before you pay anything. Not a happy camper!

literally the worst campground ive ever been to. some d-bags camped their rv in front of the bathrooms and took over, some guy walked in on my wife while she was in there, more flies, ants, spiders and cockroaches than i have ever seen in my life at the campgrounds. they mostly come out at night...mostly. birds will steal your food if you turn around. windy and almost no shade and constant heavy military equipment coming and going during our entire stay. this place should be condemned.

Great place to camp. First time and absolutely loved it. We’ll definitely be back. Make sure to not leave ANY FOOD out because it will welcome the deer to visit your site lol.
