The lake is BEAUTIFUL. Each campsite had a great view and lots of shade. Bring mosquito repellent. Our campsite had a hill to go up for a bit of privacy from the driveway. We had a bear stop by, so definitely lock up your food and anything scented (pets too! Our dogs scared it off though). The drive was amazing and Google maps wasn't too helpful, so follow the directions provided in your email.

Fish Lake NEVER disappoints! Well except for the millions of mosquitos! The Forest service people are so kind and friendly and do a great job of taking care of the place. The only negative response I have about it is the road leading to Fish Lake. It really needs to be cleared. It is CRAZY overgrown and in places it was barely wide enough for our truck.

Love this place! The campsites are nice and large, easily accommodating two tents. Each site is well separated from others and there was no noise (aside from some snoring) at night. Vault toilets are cleaner than a lot of gas station restrooms. Be forewarned that there are bears in the area and can mess with your stuff but they don't appear to be dangerous or very bothersome -- just remember to lock your food and toiletries in your car as no bear boxes are provided.

Very bad experience for us and we have been to many campgrounds. The camp sites are not well organised (close to each other and not flat) and it is very remote (the road to get there is not easy + 2 hours from Redwood). People there were very noisy until late and there was lots of mosquitoes.

This campground is extremely remote and he’s to get to. The lake didn’t look swim friendly. It was very far from the redwoods. Forest seemed haunted. Will never go back.

The campsite was great, as they all looked; but there were so many mosquitos!! The lake looked nice, but there was a lot of plant stuff in the water's edges and that water was all "standing." I think that we went through an entire can of DEET. We still enjoyed camping but, I think the experience would have been better if we hadn't stayed near the water's edge.

We spent 3 nights at the campground. It was a nice campground with a lake view. A lot of privacy and very quiet. The lake is nice and surrounded by trees. If you like to fish, a boat or kayak is a must as there is thick lotus and other water plants grow at the perimeter of lake, which make it next to impossible to cast your line. I had seen other boater pulled fishes out of the lake. The drive up there from the main road is about 9 miles. Be very careful as the road is narrow and there are a lot of blind turns and corners. Fortunately, the traffic is usually very light. The restroom was clean and well maintained. The site has water but not electricity. There are a lot of mosquitoes in summer so make sure bring sufficient insect repellent. No cell phone service, as in the case in most of Six Rivers National Forest.

Plenty of solitude during my stay to the point of feeling creepy at night. Every night my family and I went to bed listening to the chirping of insects and every morning woke up to singing birds. We have plenty of time to relax and unwind and just enjoy the peace and joy.

There are apparently multiple Fish Lake Campgrounds in Oregon, and we reserved a spot in the Fish Lake Campground several hundred miles from where we were supposed to be. Our reservation was worthless at our actual destination, the Fish Lake 30 miles from Klamath Falls. Please be sure that this campground and the permits are named in a way that makes clear the location of this campground.
