Pinnacles Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with a variety of wildlife, well-maintained facilities, and easy access to numerous hiking trails, including the highly recommended Bear Gulch Cave trail. Always delightful to get out to for a couple of days in the shoulder seasons. Start hiking right at the campground, only adds a couple of miles, and no parking rush. Getting pricey though.

A mostly open campground. Some sites have a long walk to the restrooms. There was no enforcement of the evening quiet time rule for one night while we were there, with activity going on at a nearby group site until after midnight. Otherwise, this is a nice campground and good park for at least a couple days of hiking. Geologically fascinating.

The best yet.
This quiet, uncrowded site was perfect. Great facilities, friendly staff and nice stores.
It was a joy to gaze at the Milky Way and the odd shooting star.

Campground was clean, as were the bathrooms. Came during shutdown, so some services not available. Lights did not operate inside bathrooms at night, was not sure if due to shutdown or some other reason. Lots of wildlife, keep your food secured. Overall a very nice spot in October to stay.

Such an awesome location! Pinnacles campground is the perfect jumping off point for the hikes in the area! After hiking, my three small sons enjoyed the pool, which is super unique for a national park! Bathrooms and showers were clean and nice. Expect lots of wildlife! We were there two nights and three days and we saw a mountain lion, a tarantula walking across the road, deer, raccoons, turkeys, bunnies, so many bird species…it was truly unreal.

The leaders of the large group of school kids told stories in the evening instead of encouraging the students to run wild. They learned to listen to the night time sounds. A welcome change from the many groups that don't help the children understand that there are other people at the campground. A way to respect others instead of being self involved.

Check in was easy, staff was friendly. Location said it all. So glad we were able to be in the park. We were in the tent cabins and the lights worked, but the fan didn't. I was glad we were there when it was cool at night because it was hot when we first entered the tent in the afternoon. During the summer if the fan didn't work we would have been uncomfortable. The furnishings were adequate for a one night stay, the room was large. We had mattresses which I wasn't expecting that were nice. It rained at night and it was such a lovely sound to hear it hit the tent roof. There were a lot of turkey vultures in the tree and campers had their eyes open hoping for some condors. The store had a small but decent selection of food and souvenirs. The pool opened for the afternoon, we were close to all the hiking trailheads on the east side. Great experience overall. Loved being there and enjoyed the park.
