What Guests Are Saying
Hayward Flat Campground offers a beautiful setting with stunning lake views and clean, well-kept campsites, making it a great destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Many visitors enjoyed kayaking and appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, with some noting the campground's proximity to trails. However, there were concerns about restroom cleanliness and maintenance, as well as issues with overcrowding and bee activity. Overall, while there are areas for improvement, many campers expressed a desire to return for the natural beauty and recreational opportunities.

The camp sites were EXCELLENT !! Our biggest problem was the water faucets and toilets kept getting shut down.
The poor tent campers had no other option but to load up the flush toilets that would not flush and they quickly became disgusting. We were there five nights and a few times a truck would cruise thru with Port A Potties.. but never dropped them off. Other than that it was a nice shady and quiet campground.

Great campsite! Spread out. Each site is far away from others, providing a lot of privacy. It’s right on the lake, just 2 mins walk from the shoreline. Restrooms are clean.

Great place to spend couple days in the nature. Only thing is the road coming in to the area, other that beautiful camp. Make sure to bring something to play in the water.

I love Trinity lake and I love Hayward Flat campground. We got one of the lakefront sites on a corner plenty of room for our 35' 5th wheel and truck. Make sure you have your leveling blocks! Not much of a slope but we needed them. Love all the shade in all the sites. Have stayed there 3 other times and even on the hottest day It is bearable because of the trees. Also appreciate the flush toilets! Our camp host/ranger was doing double or triple duty and was very helpful given her workload. Pleasant and informative.

We, as a large family, have been going here for years. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will probably go back again. I imagine, like all Nation Parks, they are greatly in need of repair, maintenance and personnel. Hayward Flats is no different. The parks are neglected. We (unfortunately) have someone in the Office of the President that is severely cutting funding, consequently damaging and compromising all of our Parks.
Enjoy the Parks while you can. Soon they may be taken over by "fracking" and/or 'oil drilling' or 'parcelled off to billionaires'.
