Great views of the lake. Rangers are super nice. It was dry and hot while we were there. There are a wide variety of spots with different sizes, some with various hook ups (water, electric) and some not. So you have to pay attention to what site you select. Cellular reception was relatively good.

We RV camped at this park in 08/2021, and had a really memorable experience. This is a great park overall, with lots of washrooms and showers. Some of the RV sites have a lake view and others don’t. They come with 30amp chargers and no water (mostly) or sewer hookup. There are water filling stations and a dump station though. All in all this park provides a great opportunity to fish and boat at this beautiful lake that it faces. There a few stores close by which carry essentials, including fishing permit. Also, this park is really close to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National park. However there is not much hiking opportunities inside this park, and lake is the primary attraction. Now that we discovered this gem it will be our go to park for water activities.

Surrounding campers were playing music very loudly throughout the day which got annoying, site was great, not much to do close by. You can rent a boat to go on the lake but also hang out by king river, it has a bunch of beaches

Had an amazing time. The park was super clean with an amazing view and the park rangers were very helpful. Will definitely be making more family camping trips to Island Park.

Wonderful place! The group sites have a crazy view to the lake. And there are lots of comfortable common areas to use.

False advertisement, camp sites were terrible, they are no where near water, the family had to walk maybe 1/2 mile or more to get to the lake or drive to it; upon "checking in" there was no one at the host/ranger station to help us; water was only at 19% but later when ranger finally "checked" us in by issuing us parking tags, he admitted they don't show "real pictures" of the campsites or else people won't book because we complained about the sites; cancellation policy for rental sites is terrible online, they charge us every time we want to change sites so we ended up paying double, we did leave a day early due to the smog/debris from the forest fires unfortunately so we paid more than what we anticipated. We don't recommend this place sadly. We were really hoping this campsite worked out, but it didn't for our family.
