Even with no water running in it, we enjoyed walking along the river bed that is easily accessible from the campground.

Even though its in the open area outside nature staffs on golf carts should have their masks on.

There were only 3-5 other parties at the campground when I was there (mid-November) so it was very quiet. Area was kept clean and suitable for my tent camping. This canyon, which has multiple campgrounds, is much colder than Santa Barbara at night, be specific when checking the weather. I stayed in space #11, which i couldn't find on the maps. Turned out to be a great option because it was on the outside of the ring road and the last site. No adjoining sites on two sides.

Very available and attentive camp hosts are on site, which made it feel very safe. The sites are nicely spaced apart. Very clean bathroom. Most sites have quite a bit of shade. I was in #11, and got morning sun, which allowed my solar panels to charge. Quite dusty in early November of 2020 d/t lack of rain, but I enjoyed my stay. Hiked along the dry creek bed, saw lots of wild turkeys, and a bobcat. Will go again.
